This well cared for and loved Scout 800 is the last of this first generation body style as the scout ll was released in mid 1971.This beautiful scout is truly a one of a kind 142k original low mile survivor! These old IH's are almost impossible to find this nice and completely original. This one came optioned with several hard to find options being the factory V8, auto trans with center console and factory chrome ralley style wheels. Always very dependable and fires right up with one pull of the original choke and click of the key and it drives and stops straight and smooth. The best and most amazing part is the body! It has nice and shinny original copper and white two tone paint. In all my years of owning scouts and going to IH shows I have run across very few in this kind of original and solid condition especially with these options. It truly is a must see to see how clean and well cared for this scout is. It is very clean and sanitary under the hood and along the under carriage. The beautiful metallic copper is still glossy under the hood, firewall, inner fenders and inside the interior. This scout gets alot of attention and admiration and it would be great for weekend cruises and parade's. I guarantee a huge hit at any IH show!! I truly hope the new owner keeps it in original condition and cares for it as well as it has the last 40 years. BODY/EXTERIOR- The body is completely accident free and has never had a bolt cracked on any body panels. Still retains its hard to find original mirrors, bumpers and all trim. The door window sweeps and exterior weatherstripping is still intact and in like new condition which is very hard to find. All original paint except just under passenger door and along driver side bottom was sanded down and primed by previous owner due to cover rock chips and future plans to respray and blend bottom were never reached. Paint is still shines very nice and is really bright and beautiful on a sunny day so i included pics of over cast day and in sun so you can see how it looks. All glass is original and damage free, rear hatch still locks along with doors and all lights work properly and no wires have been cut or splice anywhere! Rear driver end cap has small ding by plate and hood had some thing fall off shelf while being garaged and damaged paint and put small hole in it , but hood has no usual stress cracks and front curves like most. This paint is original and has some great patina and in my eyes looks fantastic, but has some surface scratches throughout the truck and chips here and there. INTERIOR- The interior is 100% original except the floors were scuffed and bed-liner was sprayed on to give it a nice clean look while protecting it from rust or over wear . All gauges work properly and are very clear. Front bucket seats and dash are in amazing like new condition and hard to find factory center console is still intact! Factory radio still lights up and works but speaker is shot and door weather stripping could use replacing. DRIVE-TRAIN- Very clean engine bay that is all original and 100% intact with nice original paint on body and core support along with crystal clear original decals. The motor is the original 8cy which runs very strong and sounds amazing! I believe it is a 304 but i could not see the number clearly. Original auto transmission mated to 2 speed transfer case. Complete disc brake front conversion has been freshly done to give it a safer more enjoyable drive(original pieces come with nicely boxed up) rebuilt carburetor and new seals on motor from top to bottom with some fresh IH red was sprayed on to clean it up when it was re-assembled. New shocks at all four corners, goodyear white walls and a fresh tune-up and oil change top it off! Overall it is driver ready, runs very smooth and strong, no ticks, knocks, smoking or hesitation, smooth rattle free drive and nice straight and smooth stops. i found and included image of 71 auto show with this exact optioned scout to show how it looked in 71 when it rolled of IH assembly line.This truly is a rare find and keep in mind it has NO RESERVE!!
