Vanden Plas is the name of a company of coachbuilders for specialist and up-market automobile manufacturers. It originated in Belgium in 1870 as Carrosserie Vanden Plas founded by Guillaume van den Plas and his three sons, Antoine, Henri and Willy, with bases in Antwerp and Brussels. Placed on Jaguar models the Vanden Plas label still signifies Jaguar's most luxurious variant. This beautiful car is stately without being stuffy, and the soft lines are uniquely Jaguar. The car continues the classical design theme. The unique looks of the vehicle is complemented by a driving experience all its own. Exterior The rear-drive XJ Vanden Plas comes with the same styling marked by a long, low profile, four round headlights and the signature Jaguar grille. The wheelbase and overall length are stretched an additional 4.9 inches on the Vanden Plas models. It may not sound like much, but you can definitely tell the difference once you ride in it, especially for passengers that are taller and require a little extra room than average. Interior The Vanden Plas model’s luxury and uniqueness is especially evident inside. Getting in is like sliding into an English gentleman's club, with yards of high-grade supple leather, luxurious deep-pile carpeting, and generous amount of polished wood trim on the doors, instrument panel, and steering wheel; not to mention a full load of comfort and convenience features. The instruments are simple and understated in keeping with the elegant mood. Most of the extra 4.9 inches on long-wheelbase models shows up in the rear seat, which is huge compared to the standard-size XJs. Adults have room to cross their legs, and the wider rear doors improve entry and exit. Under the Hood The car comes with Jaguar’s 4.0-liter V-8 engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. On the XJ Vanden Plas models, horsepower is 290. Traction control and antilock brakes are standard. Acceleration performance is startling with instant throttle response. On dry pavement, the Jag will light the rear tires up if the traction control is turned off and within a handful of seconds it's an impressive statistic given its size and weight. This particular Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas is in great shape. Just look at the pictures and judge for yourself. The vehicle is mechanically sound and the interior looks nice. The engine sounds great, it handles and drives superbly and has no problem developing high speeds. Car runs straight as an arrow and tires do not pull in any direction. The shipping to Europe from Florida would cost about$ 800.00 (Ro-Ro) Enclosed Container to Rotterdam, Antwerp or Bremenhaven $1100.00. Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Scandinavian states and England are about $1400.00. Container is prepaid. Ro-Ro is paid when you get the car. The shipping to Middle East, Australia, Japan and Africa is about $1500.00 (RO-RO) All shipping is paid once you get the car. So no cost out of pocket at all until you take delivery of the car.
