Vehicle Detail
***UP FOR AUCTION is this strongly running 1973 Buick Century: a classic driving experience. This rare auto is a classic 1970's muscle car from a bygone era when things were built to last! This is the last vehicle from my collection of "toys" that I must sell to prepare for a cross-country move from Virginia to Oregon; I've waited to list this one last because she is my favorite car of all time and I hate to see her go! (I have nicknames this car "The Shark" due to her very aggressive body lines and deep sea-blue color; this car has beautiful curves. This model Buick was popularized as driven by Telly Savalis' character "Kojak" in the 1970's hit police drama by the same name.) PLEASE NOTE: Winning bidder must be able to make payment in full and take delivery of this car on or before May 1st, because that's the day I'm leaving Virginia for the west coast! Please do not bid if you are unable to complete the purchase before May 1st. This car features all of the following: Buick 350 engine with Holley 4-barrel carburetor for maximum performanceOptional manual choke for easy start-up on extreme cold weather days Corvette street wheels/rims & center caps for superior grip and styleCustomized chrome bumper with studded accentsReupholstered front bench seat featuring authentic black crushed velvet for style and comfortRear bench seat with original vinyl (with some split seams)FM/AM radioNew battery I've kept up on the regular maintenance of mechanical issues, so this car still runs very strong despite her age. Mechanically, this car is very sound. The body, however, requires some professional attention to restore this classic car to show quality. There is surface rust throughout the body, and severe rust has eaten a hole through the right rear quarter panel just in front of the right rear tire, as pictured. This car would make a great project car for someone wanting to restore it to show quality; the NADA classic car guide values this car in the $2,405-$5,562 range (Currently, this car would qualify at the lower end of the classic car values, as a "daily driver" instead of a collectible; with some body work and fresh paint, however, the value of this car would increase greatly.) Unfortunately, I must sell this car because I cannot feasibly take it with me to Oregon. Someone is going to get a great deal on this fantastic classic car! This car starts easily and runs without a hitch (as long as you can afford the gas!). I love this car and I'm going to miss her very much! I describe driving this car as more of wearing a power suit rather than simply sitting behind the wheel...when I drive this car it feels like a natural extension of my own being; sounds strange I know but the feeling of this car is inexplicable with words and must be experienced by the driver. Winning bidder: please take good care of this awesome car. Check my rating and bid with confidence!
