Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction is my old 1972 Ford F250....odometer shows 68K but could possibly be 168K since it only shows 5 digits....she is a great truck and I've been wanting to restore her for a few years now, but just dont have the time or money. She is very mechanically sound. Runs great. New exhaust. The truck is very basic. It has no power steering, or automatic transmission, just manual. No A/C. I bought it as a weekend hauler. And it has also been a great second vehicle when my car has to go to the shop...I would drive it anywhere. It always starts. Even after sitting for months... I do have an entire used power steering set up ready to be installed. Everything- steering box, pump, brackets, hoses. Of course it all needs to be installed. It comes with the truck.. this was the only thing I ever really wanted to add, because when your trying to drink some morning coffee and need two hands to turn the wheel, it becomes a hassle... the only down fall of this truck is that the front cab to body mounts are rotten - I have a piece of 2X4 between the cab and mount now to maintain proper lift for the steering column not to rub on the firewall and clutch not to bottom out. The clutch and transmission are smooth and shifts very good. It is a 4 speed. 1st gear is a granny gear, and I never use it....Like I said this old truck runs great - like a top. The interior needs a new seat cover. And it's all original and the rubber floor mat is torn...The lights all work. The horn does not work. There are a few other areas in need of attention in regards to body work, and I have taken some photos of them. The bed is in good shape a couple small holes, and one spot where it was repaired up by the cab, but all in all a very sound bed. Someone with a little mechinical know how and a welder could fix this ol' girl up fast and have a great classic truck. The tool box shown in the bed is not included- sorry. Lastly, the exterior mirrors shown on the truck are NOT included either. Again, sorry for showing the mirrors when they are not included....... If you have any questions, please email me. I will be glad to answer them. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability. I love this old truck and will be sad to see her go..... Truck is for sale where is - as is. All sales are final, so please again ask any questions before end of auction. If you want more pictures, please ask specifically what you want to see and I will photograph and post or email to you... There is no warranty expressed or implied with the sale ..its a 40 year old truck!!! Just got back from a trip with the truck and the brakes are a little spongey? Dont really know why, I popped the cover off the master cylinder and the fluid is fine..??? Anyway, just wanted to add that to the description. BRAKES WILL NEED TO BE LOOKED AT!!! It still stops with a few pumps of the pedel.. Test drives are welcome, if you live in the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia area, I'm just south of Baltimore, so let me know.. Also, I have this truck tagged as "Historic" - in Maryland that means no inspection is needed to tag and drive. So, no it has NOT passed a Maryland inspection lately.... :) Thank you and good luck to those of you interested and bidding!!! I would like to add that the buyer is responsible for picking up the truck or making all the arrangements for shipping. I will help in any way that I can.
