1961 COMET ,Titled as a comet not a mercury. Built in Lorraine, Ohio in 1961. this car was the 36,048 th comet ordered in 1961. Original sticker price was $1998.00. 6 cylinder with 1 barrel carb, AM Radio, Automatic Transmision, Drives like a new Comet. Interior in GREAT CONDITION. Exterior was repainted approx. 20 years ago. I believe the 1st owner titled car 12/20/1960, The next record I have from the person I bought it from is he owned it from 1993 to 2010 when I bought it. The person he bought it from owned it from 1974 to 1993. I have the original TITLE. Car runs and drives fine. Comet was going to belong to the EDsel brand but when Edsel was eliminated the 1961 models where titled as COMETS as make of vechicle. Car is currantly in my barn , but will be coming out in the spring approx. 4/15/11. only thing I can find that the car needs is the dome light cover!!!
