Vehicle Detail
This Rolls Royce was originally delivered to King Oil Co. in Tempe Arizona and subsequently acquired by a prominent collector in the Midwest where it has been stored in a climate controlled facility ever since. My friend William Abbott owned the car since 1986 and I acquired it from his estate in 2009. The technician that maintains the car today has been taking care of her for 20 years. The car runs and drives very well and has 84,458 original miles. The hydraulics were rebuilt by Erwin Schwarz RR in St. Louis and work perfectly. Every light, switch, gauge, button, cruise control, power antenna, etc. works with the exception of the 8-track. The car has new tires and the A/C has been converted to the new freon which works properly. The Rolls Royce GM Turbo 400 transmission was rebuilt a few years back and works flawlessly. The manual, tools, and receipt for removing and replacing the hydraulic accumulators are with the car. The original color is Scots Pine, and the top half of the car was repainted an appealing light gold color. Bill preferred two-tone cars, and frankly while it is not original it does look better. There is no rust in this car, it is as solid as the day if left the factory in Crewe. There are some chips, small scratches, dings etc. on the car. The car was used around town and driven regularly but sparingly which accounts for the low actual miles. While the car has had a good life it has the resultant marks of use. There are a couple of bruises on top of the front drivers fender near the hood where someone leaned over or dropped something on the top of the aluminum fender. Not terribly noticeable at first glance, but there nevertheless. The stainless, chrome and glass are excellent. The classic tan interior is very presentable and has no tears or rips, just normal wear for its age. The wood veneers have a rich and lustrous appearance with some fine cracks which are typical for these cars. The carpeting and headliner are excellent. Both an ignition and valet key are with the car. This is a solid Rolls Royce that you can drive anywhere. If you have thought of adding a Rolls to your collection, looking for an edition to your limo service, or are simply looking for a fun car to cruise in this is a great choice with absolutely no surprises. Don't be afraid of the reasonable buy-it-now price, I am selling the car because I am downsizing homes and losing 6 cars of space, not just trying to unload a problem. View my feedback and you can see I just sold a 57 T-Bird, and I will be listing a Jaguar this week. The car is near St. Louis and you should have no reservations about driving this car across country if you wish to pick it up rather than having it shipped. Thank you for looking, and I welcome any questions or please come and inspect the car.
