I purchased this Lincoln Continental Convertible in 1999, and it is believed that I am the third owner. This is the extremely popular suicide door convertible. The odometer stopped working at 85,109 miles. Since 1999, I have driven it minimally. I start and run this Lincoln every weekend. The car drives well; however, there is an exhaust leak in the manifold which prevents it from passing inspection. Engine is the 430cc V-8. In March 2005, I had the transmission rebuilt, replaced the torque converter, and replaced a broken transmission mount. In September 2010, I replaced the timing cover gasket, waterpump, thermostat, spark plugs, ignition wire set, distributor cap and rotor, and PCV valve. I also had electronic ignition installed in September 2010 as well. This car should have a full restoration. The choke does not work, and there is some amount of rust in the gas tank. The car comes with A/C; however, the switch is not functioning currently. The body is straight and the dash has no cracks but the clear plastic cover over the speedometer is cracked. The interior is worn, cracked, and missing pieces. The power locks and window motors are missing/need replacing. The carpet is worn and discolored. The convertible top is white that matches the interior; however, I have not kept the top up in several years. The power top functions intermittently. This is an excellent car for a full restoration!
