This is a beautifully restored 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible with the factory color combination of cameo ivory and red interior with a white power convertible top. This car does come with PHS documentation to verify it is a true GTO. This GTO was built in Fremont California and is a very solid rust free car. The 389 V8 engine in this car has a stamping on the front passenger side of the block that reads SR81109. I was told that this is a service replacement block that was probably put in this car under factory warranty. It does have the correct casting #9778789 and date code of G315 (May 31st 1965) for a 1965 389 V8. The heads both have a casting number of "77" on the exhaust port. The intake manifold has been replaced with an Edelbrock performance manifold and a HEI distributor. The engine runs and performs great. The transmission was upgraded to a 700R4 4 speed automatic that shifts nice and smooth. This GTO runs, drives and performs superbly. The suspension and steering are tight and sound. The front brakes have been upgraded to a performance slotted disc and SSBC 4 piston calipers which stop this car on a dime. The dual exhaust is nicely done and sounds great. An upgraded aluminum radiator has been installed and keeps this car running cool even on those hot summer days.
The body on this car is nice and straight with good fit and alignment. Sighting down the sides look nice with no waiviness or washboard effect. The doors, fenders, hood and trunk line up as they should. The paint on this car has nice shine and depth. The power convertible top is in very nice condition. The chrome has been re-done and the brightwork looks great. The interior has been restored and shows very well. The seats, door panels, carpet and dash board are excellent and look like new. The stainless trim, emblems and glass are in very good condition.
The undercarriage looks great with no signs of rust. The floor pans and trunk pan look to be original with no patch panels. This GTO is optioned with some great upgrades including a 4 speed automatic transmission, aluminum radiator, performance front disc brakes and a great stereo system that just make this car a pleasure to drive.
