Vehicle Detail

This is the original Suzuki Bandit model. It’s a rare bike here in the United States simply because it was overshadowed by larger sport bikes. It was built to perform at a very high level considering it’s size. The bike was derived from the GSXR 400 sold in Japan that had 59hp. The bandit 400 has the same motor detuned to 53hp. In Europe, Australia, and Japan these bikes are known as the GSF400. Interesting trivia is that the GSF400 Bandits came before the Ducati Monster, which has a similar look. 53 hp 14,500 redline 4-Cylinder 4 valves per cylinder variable valve timing 6-speed transmission Dry Weight 363 lbs Fuel Capacity 4.2 gal This bike is for sale by the original owner. It runs like it did when it was new. At 12,000 miles the bike had a full tune-up including valve adjustment. The front forks were reconditioned at that time. I just installed a new battery and spark plugs. Michelin tires look new and have only a 500+/- miles on them. The bike has the original exhaust and it works perfectly. Included in the sale is the owners manual, riding guide, and the factory service manual. It has minor cosmetic scratches that are expected with a 19-year old bike. I’ve included pictures of these issues and I can send you more if you’re interested. The key/ignition switch sticks a bit which should loosen up as the bike is used. There is a small dent on the exhaust pipe underneath the engine, which doesn’t show and doesn’t seem to affect performance. Bonus: insurance is cheap with this bike due to the smaller size. Great bike for cruising around town, taking it to the track, or making less skilled people on larger bikes feel silly. Please bid only if you can pay cash and can come pick it up in Tulsa, OklahomaCash Only/No RefundsLocal Pick-up only On Apr-13-11 at 06:17:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Variable Valve Timing In the description I listed this bike as having Variable Valve Timing (VVT). That description is based on what I was told by the dealer when I bought the bike new and my riding impressions. But, I was also told it had 53 hp. However, the actual description tag on the frame doesn't say whether or not the bike has VVT or not. This bike just states: GSF 400 (see photo) According to Banditalley.net there were three model designations for 1992: GSF400N - naked, standard engineGSF400VN - naked, VVT engineGSF400VZN Limited - Retro cafe fairing, VVT engine Here's a link with more information: http://www.banditalley.net/wiki/doku.php?id=bandit_alley_wiki Again, the bike rides incredible. I just wanted to be as accurate as poosible. Thanks!
