Vehicle Detail

Year: 1975 Model: 911 Carrera Body Style: Sunroof Coupe Exterior Color: Silver Metallic Interior Color: Black Interior Material: Leather & vinyl (rear) Mileage: 112127 Engine: 2.7 6 cylinder Transmission: 5-speed manual Wheels and Tires: Style: Fuchs F: 205/60R15 R: 215/60R15 Options: Sunroof Carrera side script Power Windows Description: One of 395 911 Carreras for the US in 1975. Originally a California car in Silver Metallic with black Carrera script and black leather (front) interior. Nice running and driving car which is stock except for a scuffed respray by a previous owner, period aftermarket side mirrors, and a Bursch exhaust. Car is 98+% rust free (as much as I can see without stripping it down) but does drip some oil. Great candidate to drive and then restore over time. Known Issues: Passenger power window not working, sunroof motor turns but roof does move. Please contact me with any questions before bidding or making an offer. All sales include an additional $200 dealership title processing fee. On Apr-05-11 at 12:03:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Known issue should say "roof does NOT move". Sorry for the typo. On Apr-05-11 at 12:06:17 PDT, seller added the following information: The radio is a vintage Blaupunkt with an external Blaupunkt amplifier. It looks to be from the late 70's or early 80's. On Apr-06-11 at 10:52:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I noticed today that the hand throttle next to the driver seat which aids in cold starts appears to be disconnected. Sorry for the late addition to the description. I did not notice it as i have never had to use it to start the car. On Apr-07-11 at 12:10:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on 4-7-11: I have uploaded some more pictures of the undercarriage. The picture showing rust is the only rust that I have detected on the car and is located on the passenger side in the A pillar cavity where the fender bolts to the unibody. It is mostly on the edges and looks to be mostly peeling paint and surface rust but I have not poked it with a screwdriver or anything. The other picture of note is the paint scuffing which is hard to describe but looks like fine scratches in clearcoat. I have not tried to buff it out or wet sand it as I am selling the car "as is". Also, note that the AC compressor belt is off as shown previously in the pictures, I forgot to mention it in the known issue list so I apologize for any confusion. Please contact me and ask any/all questions before bidding. Also, please feel free to come and see the car and or have it inspected. I have done my best to accurately describe the car but there is no substitute for seeing it yourself. Good luck! On Apr-09-11 at 13:59:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on 4-9-11: a potential bidder asked about a spot that looks like rust on the bottom of the driver side fender near the door and also asked for pictures of the door bottoms. The first two new pics are of the fender spot and the second two are the driver and passenger door bottoms, respectively. Happy bidding and as always feel free to contact me with questions and or other picture requests. On Apr-09-11 at 19:15:05 PDT, seller added the following information: 4-9-11: Update #2 - Adding another picture of bottom door/fender area on passenger side per potential bidder request. On Apr-10-11 at 05:39:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Update 4-10-11: Adding an extra! I will include an original excellent condition rubber whale tail part number 911 512 019 00 that fits this car to replace the one currently installed on it. I found this a few weeks ago and just got it in the mail on Friday. I have added a picture of the extra one sitting on top of what is on the car. The current one is OK but the one I found is excellent and looks new! On Apr-10-11 at 05:44:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I am having trouble deleting a photo so I can ad the whale tail pic...if you want to see the whale tail, send me a message and I will email you a picture. On Apr-11-11 at 15:56:56 PDT, seller added the following information: 4-11-11: A potential bidder mentioned that the rear lid/whale tail may not be the original one for the car due to it having a regular engine vent and also a faux vent. I apologize if this has caused any confusion. I am trying to get an image uploaded so that everyone can see it. On Apr-11-11 at 16:32:48 PDT, seller added the following information: After some time on the phone with eBay tech support, I am still unable to upload a picture of the whale tail. I took a second look at it inside and out and can't tell if it is an OEM unit from a later Turbo, an aftermarket item, or as some sources say, the original tail from a late '75 (which I think the car is). It looks aged like the rest of the car so I am unsure. I again, apologize for any confusion and will email a picture to anyone who would like it. Please contact me before 11pm Eastern or after 5:30am Eastern tomorrow and I will be able to email the picture within minutes. On Apr-11-11 at 17:17:11 PDT, seller added the following information: The tail and lid appear to be made out of fiberglass which I think makes them aftermarket vs. Porsche OEM. I tested them with a magnet. Per a a potential bidder, it looks to be the aftermarket style that would have been made for the early 911 Turbo or 930. I again apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
