Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a beautiful 1965 Corvette Convertible. As you can see in the pictures this is a very clean, and nice driver. All numbers are matching and it has a very unique combination with the 327 250 HP motor, automatic transmission, power steering, power windows, and dual tops. This is an older restoration that my Dad gave to me a couple of years ago that he owned for the previous 15 plus years. It is a great driver and very easy car to handle. As far as I know, all of the equipment is original. I recently spent over $4000 at Coast Corvette of Anaheim, CA having all of the maintenance done on the car. New wheel bearings around, new bushings, suspension work, four wheel alignment, rebuilt carb, neutral safety switch, and a bunch of minor things from tightening mirrors, to replacing plugs. Of course all of the work they did is documented and they are close by to get an opinion of the cars condition. The soft top looks brand new. We replaced it a few years back but because of the hard top, it is never used and as you can see in the picture it is in perfect condition. The hardtop is a fun option, although here in southern california it doesn't get a lot of use either. It needs a headliner which i never installed but i have all of the hardware to mount the top. The tires are brand new Coker Redlines. They are on 15" chevy rims with hub caps. A very nice set up. We had the knock offs on for a while but decided to go with the direct blot since the knock offs were a little suspect on staying tight. The engine is complete with all of the original equipment. The correct intake and carb set up for the year, original rebuilt brake master cylinder, original air cleaner, radiator, overflow, battery hanger, ect. I am not the foremost expert on corvettes, so I am sure there have been replacements along the way that are not original, but so far as the major engine components, according to coast corvette they are all the right numbers. The headlights rotate nice and the motors where recently adjusted and the beams set. all of the lights work great and there are no known electrical issues with the car. The radio is original and works nice. The interior is in pretty good shape and has been well cared for. Keeping in mind that it is an older restoration everything has held up great. The paint is fair. It cleans up nice and gets plenty of attention after a wax, but there are a few chips and scratches around the car. The rubber is good around the doors and windows are in nice working order. That being said, this is still a nearly 50 year old car and acts as such. Most of you are probably familiar with older cars but they are never perfect and constantly need TLC. I think this is a great driver and really fun car to own. It certainly is not a 100 point are, but cleans up very nice as you can see from the pictures. Please contact me if there is anything else you would like to know and if any of you are local you are welcome to come by and check it out. I have a ton of literature on the car, the C2 era, and corvette restoration that the winning bidder is welcome to. I also have a second carb, a second set of tires with white walls, and a couple boxes of odds and ends which include the complete set of ignition shielding. This has been a great hobby and regret that our circumstances require the sale, but Im sure someone else will enjoy it as much as we have. Good luck bidding, thanks for looking, and please email and and all questions. Bid with confidence as I have 100% positive feedback.
