Vehicle Detail

I have a 1969 GTO for sale. This is a true 242 GTO. It spent the last 30 + years of its life on the drag strip. It has a 455 engine, turbo 400 transmission, and 3.55 Nodular posi rearend which are not original to the car. There is no rust and the Lemans Blue paint is in excellent condition. It has new black seat covers and door panels from Legendary Auto Interiors. The carpet, body bushings, and 3” dual exhaust are also new. The car starts and runs really well. The 225/70R15 tires are BFG G force radials and have lots of tread left. The drive shaft loop, line lock on the brakes (power still needs to be hooked up) and a few other racing parts are still installed on the vehicle. The only problems that I am aware of are that there are no horns, the heater blower motor is loud, and the front turn signals do not work since they were removed for the induction inlet. The turn signal wiring is there so they could be added if the new owner choses to do this. When I bought the car I was told the following from the prior owner: The car shows just over 48000 miles on the odometer. I am unsure of the actual mileage. The engine is a Pontiac 455 casting # 485428 engine code is YY, the Date code on the block is I223 or Sept. 22nd, 1973. The heads are casting code 62 with 72cc head chambers Making compression about 12 to 1. the date codes are J238 or Oct. 23, 1968. The intake is a factory Pontiac 4 bbl date code J208 or Oct. 20, 1968 with a 800 cfm Rochestor Quadrajet. I don't know any other engine component details ie. piston, rod type, cam,........ but I have found many time slips from the track in the car from 06 that show 1/4 mile times in the 12.18 range. It is a drum brake car with power steering. Has MSD ingnition system, electric fuel pump, factory fuel tank, and front brake lockup switch (not hooked up). Engine runs very good, trans shifts great and the brakes work excellent. The frame has been inspected and is very solid with NO ROT and is NOT bent or twisted. Front parking lights were removed to allow for ramair style air. There is no warranty expressed or implied. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if sold locally before there are any bids.
