Vehicle Detail

Selling my 1987 300TD Mercedes Wagon. It has the rare 6 cylinder turbo-diesel. I'm told that there were only about 500 of these imported in '87. Highway mileage averages about 35-37 mpg. I have not checked it in town, but I know I don't fill it very often... Mechanically sound, engine runs strong, transmission shifts solid, steering is tight, and brakes stop well. The engine only smokes when started, and then just for about 5 seconds, then nothing. The only fix it would need is that it has the usual clunk in the rear when the transmission shifts at moderate acceleration. This is from wear in the differential mount bushings in the rear of the subframe. They only cost about $50.00, I have no idea on labor. This does not affect the driving in any way. I recently drove over 1,200 miles on a road trip, and it performed flawlessly. The only other thing I can think of is that the odometer stopped working; but the speedometer works fine. It is missing the inside cover for the sunroof as shown; I haven't even tried the sunroof, so I don't know if it works or not. The hydro suspension works fine, doesn't sag at all or bottom out. It started great all winter, it does have a block heater. Has excellent heater, the a/c needs charging. The car is from Texas, so it has no rust at all. The clearcoat on the paint has flaked in areas from the hot, baking Texas sun. It also didn't help the leather seats; the front seats have cracks as shown in the pics. Also doesn't affect driving, just doesn't look too good, but you don't see the seat when you're driving! This car has been run with synthetic oil since day one, I just changed it today with Castrol Syntec. I would have no problem driving this anywhere at any time, it is a very reliable vehicle, but does need some tlc here and there. Any questions, feel free to call me at 815-714-4309, Mike On Apr-06-11 at 05:59:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I had forgotten this, but the outside door handle on the passenger side doesn't open the door, but the inside handle works fine. And the power window doesn't work in that door either, also the left rear window doesn't go up or down. I'm going to see if I can get the door panel off of both, and check them out. I will post if I'm able to get them working, it might be in the switch... I'm still driving it everday, love the mileage! On Apr-09-11 at 20:16:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to help from a fellow ebayer, I got the right front window to work again, but the rear passenger window still doesn't go down...
