Vehicle Detail
Have you ever driven an XJR? If you have, you'll know that there is nothing quite like it. The acceleration of the XJR is blistering for a car of this size and caliber- the 0-60 time is 5.0 seconds, the best part is that it feels like you are going that fast from the comfort of your own living room. This beautiful silver example is my 4th Jaguar XJR. I have owned a 1995, a 1999, a 2002 and now this 2004 and this is by FAR the best of the bunch; the acceleration is smoother, the traction control is better in weather and the interior appointments are a better fit and finish. This car has what seems like acres of burled walnut and connolley leather. An added aspect of performance luxury is the "R" logo embedded on the front seats, and the aggressively styled "XJR" logo that is on the gear shift and the trunk lid. There is no mistaking a regular XJ for an XJR, from the 20" factory rims to the wire mesh grille and stock Brembro brakes, this was a race-bred kitty from the very beginning. Now about this SPECIFIC XJR: I hate that I have to sell it. I would actually keep this car for another few years if I could do so before buying another XJR. It just so happens that my new startup company has gotten the interest of several Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists (including Sequoia) and I have to part with this lovely automobile in order to partially fund my trips back and forth to the Bay area. So, here I am- offering it at NO RESERVE. Overall rating: Exterior is a SOLID 8/10. Interior is a STRONG 9/10. (I am SUPER critical of my vehicles too.) The Good: 1. I replaced all four tires in the last 6 months. They are in very nice condition (see pic)- these tires are almost $400 each. 2. The big Brembro XJR front brakes have been replaced a few months ago. 3. You could buy this car, pick it up in Denver and drive it home anywhere in America. The Bad: 1. The previous owner of this car sold it to me in the midst of a divorce. His wife keyed the driver's side door (this was a light-keying but happened nevertheless- see pics) 2. There are two dings on the car, both on the hood and both smaller than a dime. These were also there when I purchased the car and I saw no need to immediately fix them. (see pics) 3. I took the front license plate off, and there are marks where the previous owner mounted the license plate. If you put a front plate on the car, these will obviously be invisible. 4. There is some curb rash present on the rims. 5. Sometimes the car on cold days or after not being driven will throw an error code. This code goes away after a few minutes of driving. The dealer could find nothing wrong with the car. The Ugly: 1. Trick question. There IS no ugly on this XJR. It's stunning!!!!! Lastly, you'd do well to buy this XJR from me instead of buying an XJR from some random dealer that does not focus on XJR's. Like I said, I have owned 4 of these cars and I will likely own 5-6 more throughout the course of my life. Before I bought this car, I made sure it was everything I wanted it to be. Car dealers buy and sell cars as "deals". I bought this car to complete my image. Drive to meet other CEOs and Investors. I wanted to feel confident everytime the valet pulled my car around, no matter who I was standing next to. This car will make you proud. Good luck!! PS- I have this car listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early. If you want to make sure that you get this gorgeous XJR, use the "Buy It Now" feature!
