We have a 1996 Honda Civic Ex Loaded. The car has gotten the oil changed every 3,000 miles. This car will easily get around 25 to 28 mpg on the freeway. the owner is getting ready to graduate from college less than a year and is looking to buy a newer vehicle. The chasis has 284,000, and the replacement motor has 80k on it. This vehicle primary use for driving from sunbury ohio to osu campus each day. Heres the problem the car has a bad cylinder head or a bad head gasket. We have paid a mechanic to troubleshoot it down there is no compression between cylinders two and three. The bottom end of the engine is still good. That the problem is either with one of those two parts (head gasket or cylinder head). The parts to fix this is around $500 and the labor should be around the same. So you could easily have little money in this car. New alternator less than a year New battery less than a year New Exhaust two years new two new drive shaft axels (driver and passenger sides, less than 15,000) aftermarket speaker replacements gets great gas mileage and does not use motor oil. Replaced all tires 2 years ago - Pirelli all weather tires 70% tread left Transmission works good. Interior is in good shape Car rides solid No trunk rust or frame rust The Bad's: currently the car does not move on its own. There is a leak in the head gasket or the cylinder head needs to be replaced. T belt did not slip and it is ok. Deer ran into the side so it has minor dents on side of car.
