THIS WAS THE DISCRIPTION OF THE CAR WHEN I PURCHASED IT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO ON EBAY: FALCON FUTURA CONVERTIBLE BLACK & RED-Show & Go!! 260 HP V8-Ford C4 Automatic ESTATE SALE: This car has been pulled from storage and is sold as show. This car has a Clear VEHICLE TITLE in hand. It is part of a large classic car collection that is being cleared & now sold. Owner had many high end cars and was very selective on what was added to the collection. Some know history as told is as follows: This Falcon Futura runs & sounds great….starts right up…runs smooth, drives & rides like a dream…A classic convertible that is in very solid condition with no rust. This vintage Ford was built in Lorain, OH, and was originally a low mileage find & dry location, mid-west car. The 260 V8 engine & transmission were recently pulled and fully redone with HP 289 free flow heads. I was told engine block & other numbers match as this is a true factory 260 V8, same as the Sprint*, with the dependable Ford C4 Automatic transmission. You can see under the hood that the radiator, hoses, wires, belts and all else are new. It has all new custom sport rims/wheels & tires. The car has also been recently repainted with shiny black paint. I am sure you know that only the straight cars can be painted in shiny black and still look great! The white top is old and original condition with also the rear plastic window needing replacement. Complete top kits are only $260.00 on line, & I know a local installer who installs them for about the same cost. You can then choose white, black, or even red (I have a website address showing same model convertible with a red top for $25K that looks sporty & custom) *This is a Factory V8 Futura Convertible with the same 260 V8 option engine as the Sprint. I was told that the engine was professionally rebuilt by prior owner less than 2,000 miles ago for mild performance…to well exceed the stock Sprint V8.…this car sounds great! MORE INFO: Engine was machined & redone using quality components such as hardened rings, etc….there is a good chance it was also bored to 289 specs (there was no paperwork found) Told it’s the original 260 block with HP 289 Free Flow (K-code) type heads, Offenhauser Aluminum Intake topped with a 4-Barrel Holley Carburetor, Performance Electronic Ignition, etc…it sounds great, idles and runs smooth with lots of power….. CAR ALSO HAS New Front Disc Brakes! This car is equipped with the power convertible top option…which also works great! His car was usually kept with top down & ready for sunny day drives. Look in the trunk and under the front hood & rear trunk lid… all shiny and an amazing condition survivor that has been to car show and cruising. I took it out just for a bit to get photos and Pizza, and got thumbs up and some hoot and hollers from the girls… it is a fun and sporty car to drive… with the best and rarest of color combinations! NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY!!! When I got the car here in Kalispell, MT I discovered that there is a rust hole in the passenger front floor board and the driver’s side is thin. There is a bubble under the paint on the lower front edge of the passenger door. The antenna, trunk lock and FORD letters on the hood are missing. It looks like the paint was professionally installed, but it’s not a high dollar job. There’s some dust in the paint and other flaws. It looks good just not as good as it was originally described. The gauges under the dash work, but the dash gauges do not work. The speedometer jumps like it may need a new cable. The car starts and runs good, but when it’s cold, it will stall when you accelerate (carburetor adjustment ??) I have sold many cars on EBay and as you can tell, I take pride in giving a FULL DISCLOSURE on what I sell which is something that cannot be said about everyone . I am prepared to take a loss on the car, but feel you should know what you’re getting. The car is currently located in NW Montana and is SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS. I have a list of transporter companies that we have worked well with in the past. The list can be made available to you upon request. The car is also available for local inspection at almost any time. The car can be stored here for a reasonable time if needed. Please don’t bid if you can’t or won’t follow through with the sale. If you have questions, I’m an open book, just ask through EBay or call me at 406-261-5991 $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. The remaining balance is due within 7 days. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY AS THE CAR WILL ALSO BE ADVERTISED LOCALLY.
