Vehicle Detail
1965 mustang. Numbers matching high performance 289 with green dot automatic transmission. Car is a very nice everyday driver that gets attention at every gas pump. Engine has lots of chrome with headers, edelbrock intake and carb and mild cam. Paint has great shine but does have some spiderwebing and a chip or two. The car is rust free and dent free but the old restoration appears to have included some bondo on the trunklid which is visible in the pictures. Car has polished woodgrain steering wheel, around stereo and on glovebox cover. Recently installed poineer stereo system that sound great, as well as a new B&M ratchet shifter. It has all new front end parts and a fresh alighment. New rear springs and factory chrome GT wheels with very good rubber. Interior is great, except the man who installed the shifter cut the carpet back a bit to far(easy fix). there is a spot of body filler that has bubbled up about 3 inches long on the INSIDE of the drivers side door. The car is a factory no a/c and no power steering car. There IS one thing wrong with the car. It runs hot. I thought it had a bad head gasket so had the heads magnifluxed and checked for cracks (none were found). I had the heads re-built and professionaly installed with new head gaskets and it still runs hot. I have no more time to tinker with it but have been told that from here it has to be something simple. the only other thing is the drivers side window slipped off the track. Beyond that there is nothing major wrong with the car except what you would expect from a car that has been sitting in a barn for a year or so (was not even washed when these pictures were taken) Please call at 832-349-5765 with any questions or feel free to come look before you bid. I expect a $500 deposit within 24 hrs of auction close and the balance within 3 days of auction close. No hurry for pickup as it is not in my way and is stored indoors. Buyer is responsible for shipping and car is for sale locally so auction may end early.
