1986 MERCEDES 500 SEL LIMOUSINE This limo is very rare in that it is a true Pullman Limousine. For those of you that don't know, the Pullman Designation means that Mercedes Benz built the car as a "multi passenger" vehicle. In other words, the stretch itself was done by Mercedes. The car was then sent to a German company, Schultz, for the interior work. There is a Pullman Plate riveted on the car to prove the designation. I have done a lot of work since I bought this car: Repainted entire exterior Had cabinets in passenger area refinished Rebuilt Engine New Tires When I purchased the limo 5 years ago the oil pan had been punctured (looked like it hit a curb or something like it) and the car had been run without oil...therefore the engine rebuild was required. It now runs very well with a lot of power. The original miles show under 35K. My mechanic feels this is accurate. The Limousine seats 6 comfortably, can seat 8 adults. I have had 12-15 kids in it also. The "L"seat also has a motor which reclines the seat into a bed. I disconnected this as I used the limo a lot for charity events in which I would often carry kids around and thought it better to keep the seat up. There is an Alpine AM/FM CD player in the back and AM/FM Cassette in the front. A few small issues to mention: Power Steering leak - I have to add fluid occasionally. Missing Rear Antenna. Moonroofs (2) are sealed closed. When I first bought it I charged the AC and it worked. It probably would need that again. The vinyl upholstery is in great condition. I would trust driving this limo anywhere. Last summer I took it on a 3 hour each way trip and it performed flawlessly for me. I originally bought it with the intent of starting a limo service which never happened. It is a great car for that or just taking friends out on the town.
