Carlsson was on the scene back in the late 80's, early 90's fighting for position on the race track with tuners AMG (then not owned by Mercedes GmbH) and BRABUS. They were building awesome performers for Rallye racing and for the Improved Touring series that still offers some of the worlds most competitive racing with cars that you can easily recognize! So what is this CL all about? To start is has the monster 5.5L Twin Turbo V12 packing 510 HP and 612 lb ft of twist and the highend motor also means that most of the Mercedes parts list has been added in to the mix. Night vision...got it...Distronic Radar Cruise...also present...heated/cooled front seats with the V12 emblems, suede headliner, Navigation of course, SIRIUS Radio, HK Stereo....all the toys. This is the way Mercedes Benz produced the car and lets be honest..any REAL car afficianado wants their car to stand out in a crowd of $150,000 rides. The addition of the Carlsson front splitter, fog/driving lamps and the polished grill makes a little statement...side skirts give more definition to the hulking body and the rear skirt has the Sport Exhaust diffuser to allow the 4 giant oval tips from the Carlsson Sport Exhaust to peek out. The exhasut has a presence, mostly from behind the car, which is convenient because unless you are inside of this beast it is about the only place you will be..behind. The C-Tronic suspension control is present to give the big coupe a 30mm drop and hunkers her down on the BRABUS 20" MONOBLOCK VI wheels that have been shod with new tires. The rest of the rear appearance includes a Carlsson deck spoiler and a Carlsson badge in place of the Mercedes star. A real head turner and a lethal performer with near 4 second rips to 60 MPH..an amazing car and an amazing price for the nearly $30,000 in additions and labor to make this car extremely rare.
