Vehicle Detail
57 Thunderbird VIN D7FH142863 ID Tag 40 AA XA 15L330136P This Thunderbird is a white over red older restoration with much recent work and expense. Five new Coker tires on original wheels and hubcaps plus a set of 4 new wire wheels. New brakes all around. Lots of new trim inside and out, including new wing windows, mirrors, etc. Interior has new black and white upholstery with working gauges, electronic in-dash tach, heater, wipers, and radio (original mechanical tach included with other spare parts). All lighting throughout the car works properly. Trunk has new upholstery trim and weatherstrip, and inside is a spare tire, a jack and tire tool, and lots of extra fasteners, hardware, and older trim pieces. Ignition, glovebox, door, and trunk locks work properly. Two speed thermostatically controlled electric fan on the radiator. Removable Hardtop newly restored with new paint, weatherstrip, porthole glass and trim pieces, and headliner. Removable hardtop only car, no soft top. 1966 T-Bird 390 with T-10 4 speed detailed and runs smooth and strong. 1957 292 included (if desired) that runs. Also included is a 1957 292/312 four barrel and intake manifold. This car is a great, fun, reliable driver that you can enjoy right now. It is not a show car by collector standards, although 90% of the planet would consider it such as you cruise by. The older paint has a few bubbles (see photos) under the paint by the fuel door, and one small bubble on the upper fender next to the hood, and the bodywork was not sanded well when the original restoration was done. The bumpers have not been re-chromed and there are several places where the chrome is worn or there is minor surface rust or repair. The floor, trunk, and doors are very solid. The only evidence of earlier rust repair was in the rockers where the outer rockers have been replaced. But again this is a sharp driver that can be further restored or enjoyed as is without breaking the bank. Reserve is set low and the Buy it Now is a fair price for this car. Thanks for looking!! On Mar-08-11 at 10:38:42 PST, seller added the following information:When I acquired this car I was advised the rocker panels were replaced due to rust. It turns out the inner rockers were not replaced and have rust damage. They would need to be replaced if you want to take this car to a higher level of restoration. I apologize for not knowing of this hidden damage and have reduced the Buy It Now price by $800 to $22,000 to help cover this repair.
