This Audi just had a super major service. I purchased this car from my friend who had this car stored for nearly two years. I decided to buy the car from him since he didn’t want to keep storing the car. He was the second owner and has had the car since 2004. The car just had a new OEM Audi transmission put in before he put it into storage at around 125k miles. He told me it cost him about $4800.00 to have it done. He didn't want to go with a rebuild since many people have had reliability issues since the tolerences are very high. If an A8 has not had a replacement done by 100k+ it is going to need it sooner or later since most owners never bothered to change the transmission oil since Audi said it was LIFETIME and there was no way to service it. Many people found out the hard way when their transmissions failed. Audi should have known better. The car now has 146k. The car drives very smooth and quiet just like a new car. The shocks and control arms are in excellent condition with no wandering or weird noises like most worn out A8’s you see here on Ebay. This car drives very tight with no issues. I don't have to make excuses the car drives like a dream. This car was well cared for by a non-smoker and everything on the car works except for the power headrests and rear window shade which is a common problem in these cars. The A/C blows cold and all the dash lights illuminate perfectly. There are no dead zones. No check engine lights. Computer says a big OK when you go through the start cycle. Compression shows 180 across. The exhaust system is in great condition with no rust or leaks. This A8 has all its owners manuals and books. The major service that has been done is very extensive since the car sat for so long. This ensures that nothing will leak or break or have any reliability issues down the road. The undercarriage is very clean with no wet spots or any damage. It has never been off road. The body is in excellent condition for its age. No accidents or paint work. It is a very clean car. No rips, tears or burn marks in the leather seats. No funky smells just smells like a clean audi. All work was done by an experienced 25 year Audi Master Technician. A monkey did not work on this car. You do need special tools to work on this car or you need to borrow them if you work on it yourself. Everything below has about 300 miles on it so it is guaranteed fresh. As you can see I am very picky and anal and I don't like to sell junk. 1. Complete timing belt, tensioner, thermostat, water pump service with all seals replaced with German made parts. 2. All brake rotors, pads and brake fluids changed and flushed 3. New Tires. Latest Kumho Platinum W Rated Luxury Tires. 70k high mileage tires. Smooth and great handling. 4. New Valve Cover Seals on both sides. The old ones were leaking. 5. Fresh Oil Change. I used a OEM Mann Filter. 6. New OEM Audi Keyless Transmitter. All the door locks, power release trunk and windows work perfectly. 7. New Transmission Flush with new OEM Audi Trans Filter. Old fluid looked great, but changed it anyway. 8. Upgraded and changed the troublesome Oil Cooler leak common in these cars. I took out the plastic piece and replaced it with a billet metal replacement. This is very expensive and time consuming(8-10 hours). No more worries of disappearing coolant going into your oil. 9. Fresh Audi G12 Pink Coolant 10. 55W HID Low Beam Headlight Upgrade to 5000k. Made a huge difference. No dash warnings at all. 11. New Coolant overflow tank and sensor 12. New Continental Serpentine Accessory Belt 13. New Alpine Head Unit with Alpine Bluetooth Unit ($500.00 alone). Have original deck. 14. Spare Keys included. 15. New Fuel Filter. Very important to change this since a clogged one will kill your fuel pump fast which costs $390.00 plus labor. 16. New Cabin Filters Replaced (2) 17. New Air Filters Replaced (2) 18. Cowl/Vent Area was flushed of any leaves and debris. Everything drains like it should.
