The T series cars were designed and built to inspire the driver in a way only an open top English sports car could. Simplicity and performance were the name of the game at MG and the TA delivered with a 50hp 4 cylinder engine and a 4 speed transmission, the 2 seater had a top speed of around 80 miles per hour, quite respectable for the time! Few if any other cars at the time could compete with the TA in terms of raw performance and sports car like vibe. Considered by many to be the first true 2 seat mass market roadster, the T series cars ignited an automotive flame that even today is still one of the hottest segments of the modern automotive marketplace. Built from 1936 to 1953, T series cars underwent several major design and engineering revisions including the elegant TD which was only produced for 3 years. Finished in striking Almond Green over very well kept beige interior, this handsome MG TD is a wonderful example of the second to last year of this iconic roadster. Featuring a healthy 1,250 cc dual carburetor 4 cylinder engine making 57 horse power, a smooth shifting 4 speed manual transmission, fully functional instrumentation, tan canvas convertible top with matching side curtain windows and more, this elegant roadster is well sorted and ready for the coming car show season. Boasting a well kept older restoration, this solid car shows very well over all with an excellent body and very presentable paint finish showing only a few minor signs of wear. Car starts quickly and runs very well with a great MG sound, good drive characteristics and all the heart and soul these fine English cars are known for. Interior condition is also quite good boasting a very nice wood dash board, newer seat cover in great shape, wood steering wheel, functional gauges, excellent door panels and more.
