Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a beautiful 75 VW Super Beetle that only needs an engine longblock to get this buggy cruisin again. I'm an ASE certified auto tech and this little green gem was my daily driver car that I was restoring. Its original engine ran very well for me while I invested time and money in all other aspects of the car, but the engine threw a connecting rod when I was on my way to work one day and now I haven't got the time and funds for a new longblock. I removed the engine and dissassembled it down to the longblock, which I discarded because it was not rebuildable. All nuts and bolts have been bagged and tagged for ease of reassembly. The body, floors and heater channels are solid and rust free except for a few bubbles near the rear window. I have additional pics of the underside of the floors that can be emailed, if needed. The paint is 5 yrs old and most body rubber was replaced at that time as well. Its not "show" quality paint but does look good. The chrome is all in good shape and the stock running boards have been replaced with polished aluminum ones. The taillights are custom low-profile units. The wheels have been repainted and the tires are new.I have had the car up on blocks so the new tires don't get any flat spots. The brakes are fresh- new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, hoses, and resurfaced drums. Wheel bearings are new also. I replaced the tie rod ends in the steering linkage and did a computerized alignment so the steering is nice and straight. The rear axle C.V. joints have been rebuilt. All parts that bolt on to the engine longblock are included- fan shrouds, alternator, carb, fuel pump, starter...etc. The heater boxes and quiet-pack exaust have very little miles on them. The interior is nice. All carpet is new, seats are original and in great shape. Seat belts work fine and the seats themselves slide easily forward and backward when making adjustments instead of being rusted shut in place as is common on old VWs. The floors are original and rust free. I repainted them when I replaced the carpeting. The headliner is original, it has a few small tears and shows some wear but isnt too bad. The radio is the original AM type and works great, I replaced the mono speaker in the dash. The rare factory sunroof works great and the crank handle is new. The steering wheel is from a Porsche but an original could be put back on. I don't have the steering wheel that came with it. All interior and exterior electrical items work fine except for the horn. No battery is included with this car. I do have a box of misc. extra parts I'm including as well as extra door and rear window glass. Winning bidder has 48 hrs after auction close to deposit $300 thru paypal and then 7 days after auction close to bring the remaining funds (cash) and pick this bug up in Middletown Maryland. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them as best I can.
