This clean little binder is completely stock and unmolested, not even the top has ever been off and all weather striping is uncut!. It is a original California model so it is CA smog ready or it can also be removed easily. This scout was fully optioned with every option possible- A/C, tilt, cruise, two pkg, 345 v8, auto, ps, pwr brakes,automatic hubs, deluxe interior, rally steering wheel, deluxe exterior pkg with chrome exterior pkg, front bumper guards, white side decal and still has all its original books / manuals. BODY/EXTERIOR- Nice solid and sound body that has all its factory original paint except for the passenger fender and door had a re-spray and decal redone at one time in the past, but no filler could be found. IT shows wear hear and there , but still has some shine left in her and for being 32 years old it looks very good and will get you lots of compliments and looks. Original steel wheels with stainless steel caps and nice 31" raised white letter mud terrains. There is a small ding on driver fender right by light, on driver tail cap by lens and couple little dimples on hood toward the back passenger side. Top has never been off and drip rails are in nice shape, but driver side edge was previously scuffed up to kill surface area rust, but is very solid alont with rear hatch. All glass is original and in good shape and all lights work. As you can see it has rust starting on both sides of lower rear quarter just in front of rear tire below the trim and the rear quarter lip is starting to show signs but the original owner did what they could to kill the rust and put rust preventative paint on it. The rockers look great on inner and outer sides, floors look solid on top and bottom with only minor surface rust starting under interior mat at right rear corner along with bottom inner edge of doors. For being its age this scout presents very well and the thing i like is there is no questions, it shows it flaws and hides nothing. Patch panels can be purchased brand new from many online stores now or you can leave body as is and enjoy it for a very long time ( please look at all pics on link and shoot me a email if more is desired) INTERIOR- The interior is 100% original and intact. The rear mat is perfect, but front carpet is a factory light blue so didn't stand a chance and should be replaced to really give this scout justice. Front bench seat has wear on driver vinyl side and some dark discoloration due to its light colored material along with driver door panel have but with some good chemical and little time should come back. Rear seat is near perfect and a beautiful dash with hard to find rally sport wheel and tilt steering. Nice headliner, side panels and visors. All gauges are clear and work properly. Stereo lights up but no sound comes out and DRIVE-TRAIN / MECHANICAL The motor is the original 345 8cyl with electric choke and and runs strong with no noises or smoking. 727 auto transmission, dana 20 2-speed trasnfer case, automatic hubs, Factory A/C( needs recharge but all parts are there), Dana 44 axles front and rear with power disc brakes up front. Fresh shocks, muffler, catalytic converter and brakes have been done. This scout is all original from 1979 so it has some little leaks here and there, but nothing major or to be concerned of. OTHER IMPORTANT ITEMS TO MAKE NOTE OF- Although this scout is very honest and clean it has not been restored and never has been so please do expect one! :) All of these above mentioned items can be seen in close ups in link so please check them out. Overall this can be driven and enjoyed for many years as is. I hope I and all the close up pics have done the job to describe this rig the most true and honest possible!!
