Vehicle Detail

Here is a 1954 Plymouth Belvedere Hardtop 2 tone color of yellow and black, needing general restoration. My Dad got me this car in Sept., 1960 for me when I was 15 years old with a beginning license. We never did trade it off, and this car will need general restoring of engine, drive train, interior, most glass, etc, etc. I never got around to doing anything with it, the car will need trailered. It is on our farm just sitting. Body never been hit, very little rust, if any ! It has the 3-speed shift with overdrive. Never altered, never abused. I was proud of this Plymouth, I wish it can go to good hands, caring person to preserve it, restore it. Hate to see it for just a parts car, or junk car. It has unknown miles really, I think speedometer is 54,000 ? It will need some chrome, engine work, etc.....a project. There is a 1949 Dodge pickup next to it too, if you want it. Both of these have the flathead Chrysler 6 cylinder engine. We used it on the farm a lot of years. I am retired now, so I really should clean these out of our farmyard, hopefully to someone interested. I thank you for looking, e-mails welcome...I can reply to all. So ......here ya go !! I am in Wyoming, about 160 miles north of Casper, near I-25.......and 165 miles south of Billings, Mont., near I-90. I can help load this car with tractor assistance onto a trailer, also car can be stored here for time, if need be. This was my high school car, til my '57 Bel-Air ......... ! I forgot to mention ....I have a lot of the emblems and ornaments our son took off years ago, nice and shiny in our basement....car with low reserve really. The engine is intact, never exposed, hood, trunk, doors open OK. And ........complete clear title to this Plymouth. Thanks for looking .......questions welcome. On Feb-25-11 at 16:39:11 PST, seller added the following information: This afternoon I went to look at the Plymouth to check out some questions, and let you all know about this car a bit more. There is some rust through on the truck pan, but not completely. Was under the old mat in trunk. The body panels, fenders, quarters, doors and all the body parts look solid, look good. That is why I stated no rust on the car. There is a lot of snow and ice now with our winter we have had, might be a challenge to get it loaded on a trailer, but it is supposed to warm up this next week. If needed, we can leave the car sit here a bit. I want the buyer of the car to be satisfied, and can leave it parked for whatever time you feel is right. The pictures were taken last spring as I thought about selling it then even. Car still looks the same. Under the hood, the oil bath air cleaner still on, the carb still intact and on, sparkplugs all in place, distributor, gas lines, wiring, etc. I see NO damage, inner fenders crunched, etc. The left side windows are rolled down, and their glass is NOT broken, all intact to windows frames yet. Windows did roll up last summer when I tinkered with it. The right side window frames are all there, not gone, bent, or broke. Under the car is pretty solid too, I feel just cosmetics would be good for it, not a complete rusted car, don't think that at all ! It is pretty dry and humid free here in summertime. The front and rear seat cushions are all there, needing reupholstered of course. Interior door panels there too. Some 4 door parts on front end will work I think on this hardtop, but I believe the grilles are same too. As far as I know it has never been in a wreck, crash, etc. Only my Dad and I drove this car. With the 3-speed and overdrive trans. I recall it got really good gas mileage ! Remember when we thought 20 to 25 m.p.g. was great ? Folks, I want to be complete about this car, but it is what ......57 years old now ? Please keep that in mind, I just did not have a shop to keep it in. I feel it is pretty solid for its age, and kind of a rare car. A fella in New York sent me an e-mail that the 3-speed with overdrive is a scarce transmission and that alone is worth $$. So .....who knows ? I want you satisfied as a buyer, but I just do not want it to go and be scrapped. I have a few parts I think in the trunk, better look again. The hood emblem and Plymouth "ship" hood ornament I have in our basement. I think it would be a really "classy" car, back on the road with new paint, etc. Wow ...any other questions or comments, I will try to answer, thanks for reading and your time given ........I would give you my cell phone number if you would request. Sorry so long, thanks again, mjd45T
