Vehicle Detail
It's loud, it's proud, it's the prized 1967 Corvette with a 427/435hp tri-power motor and Winters aluminum intake/heads. This car has undergone an extensive mechanical frame-off restoration over the last few years. The paint has been restored to its trim-tag Marlboro Maroon. Since undergoing its over $50,000.00 (yes, I have the receipts to prove it) body and paint restoration at Glenn Vaughn Restorations in Post Falls, Idaho (the car is featured on their website), the convertible top has never been latched down over the rear deck so as to prevent marring of the paint. This car has the A.O. Smith body. I have been recently advised by a couple Corvette folks that A.O. Smith did not supply bodies for big-block applications to the St. Louis plant. After researching this issue, I note that the experts disagree as to how many, if any, A.O. Smith bodies were utilized for big-block applications in 1967. Some authorities contend that a few A.O. Smith big-blocks could have been built the first few weeks of production. I have yet to find a definitive answer to this riddle. Given this controversy, even though the engine block stamp matches the VIN, it is possible that the engine block was restamped and that this was originally a small-block body given this controversy. The body build date is March 13, 1967. The motor build date is March 3, 1967 with casting number 3904351 and engine code T0303JE. The intake casting number is 3894374. The drivetrain looks clean and so does the engine compartment. The massive engine is responsive and powerful. The exhaust note through the sidepipes will make you wonder why they even offered a radio for this car (I have to wear earplugs when I drive it so that I don't destroy my hearing). There is no mistaking this beast coming down the road. I just had the engine dialed in at the local speed shop, and I have had no problem getting it to fire up in my garage even with these frigid winter temperatures. The car is heater-delete. The gauges and accessories function as they should, and the clock even works. The interior looks beautiful. The chrome has not been replated. There is no tank sticker. This car has been geared to be a highway cruiser and it drives beautifully. The car presently sports a new set of red-line radials (not the bias plys in the photos). I will throw in the bias plys mounted on rally wheels to the winner. I have wanted this car since I was old enough to drive, and it kills me to have to part with it, but I have a rare opportunity to purchase a vacation home that has sentimental value to me from an elderly relative and so my pride and joy has to be sacrificed. No foreign bidders and no scammers please. The money will have to clear the bank before you take possession. Check out my feedback. I have sold two special interest cars and an airplane on eBay since joining. I am a lawyer (no jokes please) and play by the rules. Bid now, bid often, and good luck!
