78 Triumph Spitfire “speed and classic beauty” This is a 78 Spitfire with the speed of the 1500 cc engine, four speed transmission with overdrive and classic beauty that made the Spitfire one of America’s favorite British sports cars. My 79 year old father has decided to sell her. He’s decided he might be getting too old to drive it, but still drives it regularly. He has babied this keeper and been driving it since August 1998. The car has a clear Georgia Title, 63,130 miles showing, French blue with white racing stripe and white hard top makes this a very distinctive car on the road. Never left outside. black and grey interior, good Michelin tires on wheels painted to match the car, boot cover and tonneau. She runs out good (I quit at 70) motor is perfect with electronic ignition and shifts smoothly, headers and quiet muffler. The little car is in great condition for a used car but she doesn’t get driven enough. No rust, no windshield dings, professionally reconditioned engine just before Dad got her, AM/FM/cassette with good speakers, White factory hard top keeps you warm and dry in winter and black convertible top allows you to be ready for rain as you ride topless in summer (also in good condition). Driven to and shown in British Car Shows at Chateau Elan near Atlanta, Chattanooga Cleveland, and Dalton. Drive her home, just don’t get caught speeding. Vehicle Condition This is a fun driver, not a museum piece, so there are some minor scratches, chips, and imperfections not visible in the photos, paint is a little dull at only about an 8 on a scale of 10. Terms of Sale This car is sold in "as is" condition, there are no warranties implied or written. The winning bidder must send 20% down payment by cashiers check within 3-days of the closing auction. The balance is due 7 days thereafter or you can bring cash and drive her home. If you do not inspect the vehicle within 3 days of the auction after receiving your deposit, sale is final and your deposit is also forfeited. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING VEHICLE FROM SELLER TO HIS LOCATION. Seller will not be held liable for any damage that may occur to vehicle once it has left sellers possession.
