Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1969 SS 396 Chevelle. I bought this from a friend in 2005 with plans on restoring it. It is a "72" paint code which means it IS an SS396. The cowl tag also shows its a black top with black interior. It was also manufactured in Fremont California and from the solid condition of the frame , floorpans, trunk and quarters my guess is it has stayed in the Southwest its entire life. Why start with a basket case that needs 10K in body panel replacement? There are many clones out there for sale. The "72" paint code eliminates the "SS" controversy and wiill help aintain it's value. The 12 Bolt rear end is stamped KF which my research shows to be a 3.55 Posi which came in 325 and 350 HP SS Chevelles. The tach redline of 5500 is also consistant for a 325 or 350 HP SS. There is no engine. I have the 4 speed that came out of the car but it is not the original. It was running when I bought it but the engine was not correct. I have all the brackets, pulleys, distributor etc. which will all go with the car. Vehicle is sold as is. This is a relisting. Many people asked what it would take to make it a driver again. Parts that are included Radiator, brackets and pulleys for the engine, borg warner 4 speed, shifter, Holley carburetor, distributor, coil, driveshaft. You will need a long block and some odds and ends but not much. If I keep it I will replace the weatherstrip, window felts and rollers and a new vynil top. I would probably have the radiator re-cored then start driving! Thanks. $200.00 paypal deposit required at close of successful aution. Funds must be cleared before vehicle is released. Buyer is responsible to arrange pick up.
