Vehicle Detail
This ad is for a 1969 Camaro SS Convertible. I purchased the car just as you see it in these pictures. I had the intention of completing the restoration and driving it on occasion with great joy. I have 3 kids with one just completing college so I have come to the hard reality of I do not have the money or time to properly complete the car. It would seem all the hard work has been done. There are new floor pans installed, the car has been stripped and primered and has been jammed in with hugger orange. There is a new carpet kit, new front and rear door panels and a few other new trim parts. I have all the exterior trim, headlights, foglights, taillights, bumpers (in great shape) wiring loom, convertible top canvas, convertible top bows and mechanism (was a little rusty had sandblasted and painted), wheels, tires, engine, rear end, seats, and lots of other parts in multiple boxes I am probably forgettting. All the glass comes with the car and the regulators for the doors. The things I am missing are the transmission, center console, correct steering wheel, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, radiator, dash pad, airbox and I am sure a few other things I am not remembering. It is up to you to verify the info passed along to me for I am no expert by any means but I am attempting to convey all the info I have. It is my understanding that it is a 375 h.p. B.B. 396. I called a gentleman that I found on the internet and gave him the vin number and he asked me for the numbers off of the engine stamp on the block and different numbers off of the heads and block. Here are some of the numbers he had me look up. The number by the oil filter is 19N545337. The number on the engine stamp pad by one of the heads on top of the motor is T1106JL. The date codes on the heads are J 29 8 and K 4 8 and the casting numbers are 3919840 (square port). The casting number on the manifold is 3933163 The block casting number is 3955272. He informs me that it is a matching numbers block coded correctly for the car. I am told it was produced sometime between the 18th and 21st of November in 1968 as a 1969 production car. You will have to ask me questions about the car if I have not included the info that you need. I would be willing to look at working out a deal if you have something else you want to get rid of but i would want to make sure it is sold through through ebay if so. I have been asked in the past if it is a (x-code) ? car and I have told they did not have x codes until sometime early January 1969 production. The valve cover and the engine stamp pad (if that is correct) has a JL on it and that seemed to have meant something to the people I talk to. They made me an offer on the car but it was quite a bit less than I have in the car so I am choosing this format to determine the value based on an auction and decide to accept the best offer. The body seems very straight and solid. I must admit that I am not excited about listing this car so please be patient. Please ask any questions you might have and again I am selling this car as is no warranties (just the way I bought it). I know this car is very valuable and will make an exceptional car to the person that has the money to finish it right. Please make all attempts to verify info on this car.
