1986 Honda Rebel

Here it is, one of the most sought after beginner bikes ever made and getting harder to find. Only made two years because of some BS involving a certain Milwaukee American motorcyle co...apparantly they felt somehow they were competing with this design...What???! So yea, they were forced to stop production on the 450 model and went back to the 250 model. Great bike with a well deserved reputation for durability, handeling, reliability and a sporty appearance and it's a Honda! Ez to handle, basically like a bicycle with a 450cc motor strapped on, a great, confidence inspiring ride. This one is in nice shape, certainly not mint but still very nice, well cared for, never down. New battery and plugs, Carbs just cleaned and tuned, tires are in good shape with only a few hundred miles on them and are two seasons old. Jardine slash-cut full exhaust installed a few years back that look and sound awesome, not loud but give it just enough growl to get your attention. Paint is in nice shape for the age and shines up beautifully with minor chips from airborn road debris, there is a spot on the top of the tank where, at some point, someone removed the manufacture's sticker and apparantly a spot of paint the size of a quarter, then they clear coated it to keep it from rusting...it really doesn't look that bad and you could by the sticker for $5 and put it back on or a tank bib would also cover it. Chrome has some light pitting here and there as well as alloy parts but over all still a very nice machine cosmetically. Mechanically the bike runs great with no known issues, no leaks, no pings or unusual noises...very smooth. Shifts correct, also smooth. No tears in the seat fabric...its all good! Overall a great bike with very low mileage for the year and needs nothing. I will accept any form of check but it must clear in my account before I release possession of the motorcycle and title. $500 down at auctions end with the balance due within seven days.
