katiev15 Store This 1981 Honda CM400A Hondamatic is fully functional. It has no clutch, it is a 2 speed automatic. The mileage, (7) is actual, in fact, only 2 of the miles were actual riding miles, by me. According to some local investigating we've done, the rest of the mileage was put on the bike while pushing it. As you can see by the red decal on the neck of the frame, this bike was donated to a local school for educational purposes. A motorcycle class. The classes only survived a few years and the bike was stored at the school until it was recently sold at a local auction. The bike was originally assembled & serviced by a local dealer, gas, oil, air ect.. and test run, then drained of all fuel & oil and hasn't been run since. It has recently had fresh gas, oil & filters and has been test ridden. It passed 100%! In fact, we were very surprised how smoothly it ran with 30 year old Dunlops still on it. However, they seem to be in excellent condition, with no significant weather cracking. We have not attempted to restore the bike, we haven't even washed it, we'll leave that to the experts. There is a lot of surface rust and some oxidation. Looks as if its been dropped a few times. Nothing is cracked or broken, just a small dent on the top of the gas tank. The carbs seem to be working properly. We assumed the would need rebuilt after sitting so long, but, we're thinking since they were drained years ago the floats & jets were preserved. The inside of the tank is clean. There is no title for this bike. It is being sold as is. I have video of it running if you would like to hear it.
