1978 AMC Concord AMX American motors only made this model ONE YEAR the history of the AMX goes back to 1968and started out as a 2 seater Automobile as time moved forward AMC dropped the 2 seat concept in 1971 and went to the converted Javelin/AMX they stopped making the Javelin in 1974 and proceeded on with the AMX OPTION adding it to the Hornet in 1975 76 &77, AMC then stopped making the Hornet and started up the Concord Line this is where the CONCORD/AMX come into play in 1978, but after only ONE year AMC took the AMX package and used it as an option to the SPIRIT for 1979 and 1980, that was the END of an ERA for the AMERICAN MOTORS EXPERIMENTAL aka A M X . this car features some very Rare Options to add on or go along with the AMX package Features the options such as. rare LEVI interior, V8 motor ( 304 CID ), Air Condition, Automatic Trans, and Dual exhaust. Power Disc Breaks in the Front and Drums in the rear, center Console for added storage other than the glove box. with only 57,214 ORIGINAL miles on this car it is truly a SHAME that it was left outside the garage and sat only to be moved when the owner mowed the lawn. back and forth for 8 years, this is where I come in. the owner felt he no longer wanted this car and I ended up purchasing it from him. Thinking of going over this car and putting it back on the road for local cruise-ins and what not was my plan BUT ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! when I got this car to fire and run only by feeding the carb with fuel I can only get it to run as long as I feed it fuel, I hooked up a temporary fuel line and a gas can so I was'nt picking up garbage from the tank or lines and the motor stops as soon as I run out of fuel in my feeding container, this is telling me the fuel pump is not working. when the motor started IT DOES NOT SMOKE and started right up. when I got under the car to assess the fuel pump issue I noticed that the Uni-body frame had some serious rust, this didnt scare me so to speak, near as much as it made me just kick back have a cup of coffee and say to myself.......................................... maybe there is someone out there that would want this project as I do not have that kind of time to give this car what it needs and deserves, I have too many other projects that are not this intailed that I would like to finish, and my job takes me all over the US and I only get home every 3 weeks, so while I am on my vacation I am offering this to a new interested buyer that has more time than I have to give this car. I am offering this car AS IS no warranty as I will continue with GOOD POINTS and BAD as I always list things that I sell HONESTLY and to the best of my ABILITY. GOOD POINTS/BAD POINTS include : V8 motor with 57214 ORIGINAL miles thats really just broke in. Very RARE LEVI interior, not show quality but very presentable ( the Passenger seat has been RE-COVERED and looks VERY NICE ) driver seat has slight seam separation and the rear well I dont think it was ever sat in ....the rear seats are great. The Ground effects are all there and in decent shape there has been one piece that took on a repair job, sometime in it's life. The ONE YEAR only Rally Rime offered with the Concord AMX are there needing Volcano cones and one beauty ring is missing. I already mentioned the fuel pump but likewise that the motor will run with assistance. the Front fenders are super clean for there age, the very hard to find AMX GRILLE is in great shape as well, the body is not all beat up (meaning fairly straight ) a dent on the roof and hood thats all I noticed. Rear bumper is GONE ( it was so badly rusted I took it off with my bare hands ), Rear alum louvers are there and in tact not broke bent or missing. rear window defogger switch is missing. The Battery Does not go with this car ( it is my spare battery for moving cars that dont have one) there is an add on car computer with this car the previous owner had in it, as well as a radar detector wired in and mounted at the top of the windshield IF I THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE I WILL ADD to this but I think I have covered it all. This car must be hauled when it is sold and you come to get it. TERMS of this auction are as follows. you win this auction you make $200.00 down payment via PAY-PAL with in 48 hours of auctions end. THIS $200.00 payment is NON-REFUNDABLE ask any and all questions BEFORE YOU BID ....PLEASE ! Balance of the winning bid must be paid in full CASH when the car is picked up. ONLY then will the title be surrendered to you. That balance of the winning bid AND vehicle pick-up must be with in 20 days after auction ends ( unless you clarify this with me BEFORE ) I will assist a carrier company in loading if need be, I can also meet part way with this vehicle ( for an agreed upon fee added to the Final price of this auction) PERSONAL Inspection is fine and not a problem by appointment ONLY.
