Click here to get eBay tools at Auctiva.com ITEM DESCRIPTION: 1949 CHEVY 3100 ½ TON SHORT BED TRUCK This truck has a 1966 327 engine with 285hp. Completely rebuilt. No leaks. Auto 2 Speed power-glide transmission. Has a 5 lug possy rear end. Rear end has been attached to leaf springs with new shackles welded to frame rail, shorted by 4 inches closing the wheelbase in. In other words, this is a hot rod on a go-cart frame! Built to corner. Stock drums from that era. Stock rims from that era. Stock body including interior from that era. All MAJOR repairs to frame rails has been done with bed removed. Truck has been rewired from 6 to 12 volt. Wood from bed has been replaced (as seen in photos) when the bed was removed from truck. All glass in cab including what rubber is left is original (as you can see in the photos). Stereo has been upgraded to a 200 watt Ipod capable stereo with the Chevy Bowtie. Face shows A/M from that era. Both rear fenders rust has been filled with bondo. As you can see the truck has a new enamel paint job to seal the body for now. This is a daily driver and the body is ready for restoration. Could be made into a show truck later. It was painted just to seal the metal. Found in an old barn.
