Vehicle Detail
1977 Classic Mustang,2D coupe,V6 automatic----This is a Project car--You will be buying it AS IS, WHERE IS with NO Warranties. My husband started restoring it for me in 2000, he had the engine overhauled and drove it home (40 miles) and parked it---said he would work on it "later"! Then about A YEAR LATER--after much theatrics by me--he resumed on it again!!....he put new tires on it, new radiator, a new oil gauge, solenoid, a electronic box (it makes the plugs fire?!!) new air and gas filters, hoses, new spark plugs and wires, air shocks and gas shocks I can't remember which set went to the front or back! One day he started driving it to town about 6 miles away and it quit on him about 3 or 4 miles away --it wasn't getting gas to the carburator he said, so he jerry-rigged it with a hose from the fuel tank along the outside of the car to the carburator and drove it on into town and put it in the hands of a shade tree mechanic to decipher the problem-- SO after a new fuel pump and fuel filter and other new things later----the mechanic decided he COULDN'T figure it out! My husband again jerry-rigged the thing and drove it back home and parked it and told me "fixing old cars was NOT his idea of fun NOR on his list of things to do!!" SO NOW ---I have given up on it being fixed for me--EVER!! I have a nice NEW clear title to it---after a mouse chewed up the old one---and what a hassle that was trying to get a replaced one!! So it has sat for years and all the things that WERE NEW are now dry rotted and old and the driver's leather seat which did not have a tear in it has NOW got some tears at the seams---but the other seats appear to be okay! The sun/moon roof I am not sure which it is---has a crank that cranks the roof window open--it does NOT leak but it will need the gasket replaced ---if it is opened often. The rebuilt engine has about 50 to 60 miles on it....it does have 2 other wheels that are not in the pictures (6 total)...plus another fuel tank in case THAT is the problem! The fuel tank that is on it that I had "reconditioned" on the inside--it has a dent on the underside and I thought THAT might be the problem--that the gas was puddling up in the dented spot and pumping the gas out of that area ONLY and the hose couldn't reach the other gas in the tank after it gets low on gas ----therefore not getting gas to the carburator...but who knows?---I don't! IT WILL START if the battery is charged up. The Left front tire is used and was recently purchased (a week ago) it's the only good tire on it--the others are dry rotted! The brakes do not work either....brake line is broke, I think. The drivers door will not latch closed---I have to push it in and lock the door to get it to close. All the fluids need drained and changed in it. We once had it painted---but it was NOT a good paint job and it started peeling about a year later and now as you can see in the pictures we have rust....I think it would be a nice car for someone's teenager some day if someone had the time and money to fix it up....it's the nice heavy duty metal unlike the new cars of today..... The 2 little mustang emblems that is missing on the trunk and left side of the car--is in the car laying on the dash.... By the way all the pictures are recent ones, January 2011--the camera time was set wrong so it shows the wrong date on some of the pictures!!
