Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful automobile. I acquired it from a local doctor's estate and enjoy the car immensely. I have had this car about 7 or 8 years. It has an older (maybe late 1970s-early 80s) restoration. I have a copy of the original bill when shipped to Capital Auto Company of Atlanta, Georgia. According to the order a locking gas cap and a back up light were on back-order. It was delivered September 29,1941. it is a 75-33 series. As with a lot of cars there is a story with this one: supposedly it was used by the Gov of Georgia but I have my doubts about the validity of this. It is not a frame-off show quality restoration but is fine a for using as a driver. (Actually, the car was restored frame-off but it isn't what I would call a show room restoration) There is no rust or similar damage. It is stored in a garage/warehouse. It has not been used as a commercial limousine, The interior rear is covered in the tan cloth while the front is black "leather". The overall condition is very good. There are some scuffs of white paint on the front fender (90 year old doctor did that backing it out of his garage when using it for a young friend's wedding). The driver's side door looks like there is a large scuff (in the image) but it is a reflection. Chrome is good with some pitting and the frame around the rear lights is broken (but there). The color is a dark blue (I think it is called Antoinette blue). All the glass is good. The divider window is there but non-operational. The clock is present but not in the hole. It garners a huge amount of attention when driven. The engine compartment looks great - the flat head V8 runs smooth as ever. All electrical works (as of this listing). It is still the six volt system. The hood latch does not work (doesn't lock/secure). Also - the running boards are of teak - something I didn't like but haven't changed. I have driven the car for 1-2 hour road trips with no problems. This past summer I drove to SW Virginia along Route 11 and had a great time. The only problem with the car is sometimes it is slow to no start after driving distances - the mechanic is puzzled as it has everything new/rebuilt(fuel filter/carb, etc). He thinks maybe it could be a complication from overheating. I do not know. I would still use the car as the problem is intermittent. The ONLY reason I am offering this car is because there are people who owe ME money and I cannot collect! Alas, I need to replenish my funds. The car has been offered locally (but not publicly advertised) so I may have to end the auction early to meet my commitment to this individual.
