Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is my 1980 Porsche 911 Convertible I planned on driving it while I restored it but finances change and I need to sell to pay the bills. This car began life as a Targa but was turned into a convertible in the mid 80's it was done by a professional shop in California and was done right. The car is Guards red and has 94000 original miles. I will try to describe the car as best as I can but keep in mind this is a 30 year old car so if I overlook anything please forgive me. The car has the usual upgrades Pop Off Valve, Carrera Tensioners, Short shift Kit. It runs great and starts right up every time I drive it. In the past 3 months I have put new calipers and brakes all around, oil and filter change, plugs cap and rotor. The interior was tan and rough when I got it so I started to restore it and change it to black I put in electric seats from an 85 the drivers seat has a tear I was going to recover them but never got around to it the seats need to be hooked up to power just 2 wires and they will work great but they go back and forth manually also put in 2 new rear black seats they are in very good shape. I replaced both door panels and the map pockets. I have a new dash, vinyl material to match the door panels so you can cover the other interior parts and a new black carpet set that I will include with the car. The top was changed a few years ago and it is in excellent condition and the rear window is clear with no yellowing. The body is in excellent condition for a car this age there are minor scratches here and there but no major damage and the paint still shines. The wheels need to be re sprayed and the tires have good tread but they have a little dry rot from sitting so the best thing to do is change them they are pretty inexpensive from most internet tire sites. Underneath is in very good shape no damage does not leak any large amounts of oil. With a little TLC this can be a great car or you can just drive it the way it is and enjoy. I have about $12,000 into the car between purchase and work so my loss is your gain I have a very fair reserve so please bid I have not seen any 911s on here even close to this price especially a convertible. I will assist in shipping the car anywhere as long as buyer makes the arrangments and pays for all shipping costs. The best part about this car is the insurance falls under classic I have it insured for $14,000 full coverage and pay $275 per year. This car is sold as is where is and there is no warrenty expressed or implied. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. If you have any queestions please ask and I will answer as best as I can On Jan-08-11 at 18:23:58 PST, seller added the following information: On Jan-09-11 at 09:40:59 PST, seller added the following information: I know the hood looks out of line in the pictures, but that is because I took the picture with the hood slightly opened. Here is a new one with it closed and with both of the clear directional lights installed. On Jan-10-11 at 13:41:45 PST, seller added the following information: I have the AC compressor newer rotory style and the condensor they are not currently installed but I will include them in the sale.On Jan-11-11 at 15:59:51 PST, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add some info many people have asked about rust there is absolutely no rust anywhere on this car. I think the body is galvanized for this years model and not prone to rust and there is no rust on the undercarriage or anywhere else. The car is not mint I tried to describe everything it needs so please read the description carefully before bidding and thanks for all of the interest,On Jan-14-11 at 05:40:59 PST, seller added the following information: I have the factory seats for the car as you can see from the pic the drivers seat is not in very good shape and they need rebuilding but I will include them with the car or reinstall them instead of the 1985 seats that are currently in the car. They are much lighter and I know some people like factory original parts. The widding bidder can let me know at the end of the auction if they which set they want or if they want both. Also forgot to mention the stitching on the sterring wheel is ripped in one section they make a stitching kit or you can simply replace the entire wheel for about a $150.
