Up for auction is our 2001 Audi S8 Quattro with only 70K miles. This vehicle is in MINT condition, and as there were only approximately 500 S8s imported into the USA in 2001, this vehicle is likely the nicest one left. This car cost over $78,000.00 new. Needless to say, someone will get a deal. We liked the fact that this is a special, high-end, luxury/performance car that doesn't attract much attention. If you are reading this, you know what this car is, but most folks do not. Runs & drives like a bank vault at high speed. This is a no-excuses, no B.S. car. No leaks, weird sounds, smells, rattles, etc. No warning lights, etc. This car is tight and quiet. Clean & clear South Carolina title. Clean Carfax. No accidents, floods, etc. Non smoker's car since new. The original owner lived in Lakewood, New York, and had a winter home in Charleston, SC, so it was spared much of the "craptastic noreaster" winters up there. They traded it in on a new S8 at the Audi Dealer in Columbia, SC where it was purchased by the father of one of the Audi technicians, David Tremonti. Peter Tremonti, the certified Audi technician, has since moved to Greenville, SC and performed the maintenance and repairs on this vehicle since new. This vehicle has been adult-driven and meticulously maintained. It is in near perfect condition. Serviced with Mobil 1 synthetic oil every 5K miles. New brakes and rotors, serpentine belt, and wiper blades done 1/6/10 @ 56K miles. New CV joints and oil cooler at 66K. New Michelin Pilot Sport tires @ 53K, they are getting a little thin and will need replacement soon, as they are super high-end soft compound tires. This car sticks in corners like velcro with all-wheel-drive and high-performance summer tires. This car has been garage kept and the paint has a deep shine. The paint is not perfect, but this is likely the nicest 2001 Audi S8 on the road. The interior is mint. No wear on the soft leather seats, or carpet. No wear on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, the stainless steel, or the grey bird's eye maple wood. The only issues with this vehicle are the door armrests have scratches where the original owner's little lap dog got feisty and scratched it up a bit (see pics). There are some paint chips on the front hood, but hardly noticeable (see pics). The button cover for the trunk release needs to be replaced, but with the trunk release remote fob, I never used it (see pics). The heated steering wheel does not work, but we live in South Carolina, and I never saw the need to fix it. I hear that this is a common problem for these cars. One of the Avus alloy wheels has a small scuff/scar, but the full-size spare tire/rim has never touched the ground (see pics). Aside from above, this car has zero issues, mechanical, cosmetic, or otherwise. We would welcome inspections by serious buyers. In addition, we installed a $1544 Pioneer in-dash Navigation and XM Satellite Radio. We have all receipts and manuals for the Pioneer NAV. It works perfect! The car came with factory navigation system, but it is harder than Chinese arithmetic to operate, and the maps (from 2001) are seriously outdated on today's roads. We connected the new NAV/Satellite radio to the existing Bose 8-speaker system, and it sounds outstanding! Everything aside from the radio is factory-stock. No aftermarket air intakes, fart-pipe exhaust systems, performance computer chips, etc. NADA "trade-in" is around $13K. Blue Book "trade in" is $12K. Retail is $17,500.00. We are going to start this at $1 and see what happens. This is the capitalist, free-market system at its finest. It is worth what someone is willing to pay, and the car will sell.
