AFTER PAINT, INTERIOR, EXHAUST, WHEELS, TIRES, LUGGAGE RACK, STEREO, IGNITOR II IGNITION AND MUCH MORE MISCELLANEOUS WORK, WE HAVE DECIDED THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE ARE NOT GOING TO TREAT THIS VEHICLE AS IF IT HAD THE SAME VALUE AS ONE OF OUR EARLY BRONCOS. NO MATTER WHAT WE DO TO THIS SCOUT, IT WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE WORTH ANY WHERE NEAR WHAT OUR EARLY BRONCOS BRING. THE SCOUT IS A SCOUT II. IT COMES FROM THE FACTORY WITH A 345 V8, A 727 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES, TILT STEERING WHEEL, AND FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. WE UPHOLSTERED THE INTERIOR WITH BLACK VINYL USING THE ORIGINAL PLAID INSERTS THAT WERE NOT RIPPED OR TORN. THE DASH PAD IS REALLY GOOD AND THE FLOORS ARE ORIGINAL BROWNISH RUBBER MATTING. THE STEREO WE INSTALLED AND NEW KENWOOD SPEAKERS DELIVER DECENT SOUND. WE INSTALLED NEW WIPER BLADES AND FLUSHED THE COOLING SYSTEM TO -50 BELOW FOR ANTIFREEZE. THE TIMING MAY NEED TO BE SET AND THE CARB ADJUSTED IF YOUR STATE HAS EMISSIONS TESTING. THE ORIGINAL SMOG PUMP IS IN A BOX WITH THE ORIGINAL HUBCAPS AND GOES WITH THE SCOUT. WE DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT SCOUTS HERE AT EM2 TO TELL YOU WHAT PASSES EMISSIONS AND WHAT DOESN'T. OUR STATE OF OREGON TESTS VEHICLES 1976 AND NEWER.THE ORIGINAL STICKERS FOR THE EMISSIONS EQUIPMENT, BELT AND HOSE ROUTING ARE LEGIBLE ON THE ENGINE BAY DECALS AND THERE ARE ENOUGH VACUUM HOSES IN THE ENGINE BAY TO WRAP AROUND THE WORLD TWICE OVER. THE RIG HAS LESS THAN 200 MILES ON IT SINCE WE PURCHASED IT IN 2007. TO PUT IT IN A NUTSHELL: "IT'S JUST A GOOD OLD SCOUT THAT NEEDS A NEW HOME.
