Vehicle Detail
Wonderful Westy ANOTHER SUPER SOLID VOLKSWAGEN BROUGHT TO YOU BY THEBARNFIND.COM In 1968 Volkswagen changed the overall look of the infamous Volkswagen bus for the first time since it’s inception in 1950. The new model bus was lovingly nicknamed the “Bay Window” or “Early Low-Light Bay Window Type 2”. This second generation of the Bus was introduced in 1968, and included a long list of mechanical and ergonomic improvements over the older Split Bus. The early years of the "bay window" bus uses the “type 1” 1600cc upright motor. The advantage of this motor is that parts are very cheap and easily available. The famous Westfalia camper interior for this year is very functional and the one located in this particular bus is one of the nicest that we’ve seen in years. It includes an icebox, sink (with manual hand pump), a sofa bed, a rear-facing passenger seat,an original stool, child's cot, mosquito net, and plenty of cabinetry. This great example of a lowlight bay window also has the very hard to find “Pop Top” which allows you plenty of space to stand and move around inside the bus when it is parked for camping. Inside the pop top you will find a cot that adds some great extra sleeping space. With the top up you will see the original three window style, tan in color pop top canvas with opening in rear. After many years of use its starting to show it’s age with wear and tear. It can still be used in its current condition or you may choose to have it replaced with one of the great reproductions that are currently on the market. The Bus runs and drives great! The motor is very strong and has dual carburetors for added power but still gets great gas mileage. If you look around the outside of the bus you will see that it is still presentable for daily use in any urban environment and will blend right into any country side setting on the weekend get away with the family. The Bus has only little isolated issues in the body such as small holes in the front floor and around the lower part of the windshield. The rest of the bus is very dry. This can be easily fixed prior to pick up by TheResurrectionProject.net and will include a new front window seal. The cost for this service will be an additional $500.00 This early low light bay window will provide its new owners many years of happy motoring during the week and camping on the weekends….so pull out your favorite map, pick your destination and get on the road in this classic 1968 Volkswagen Camper. As with all of our auctions at THEBARNFIND.COM Please bid with confidence!!! WE ARE HAPPY TO WORK WITH INTERNATIONAL BUYERS If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at: tony@thebarnfind.com Please Note Due to the current EBay policy that does not allow sellers to leave negative feedback, we as sellers have no warning signs about potential nonpaying bidders. Ebay requires zero accountability or consequences to those who bid, yet do not follow thru with their contractual obligation to pay. This policy is causing unusual amounts of ‘’Unpaid” Items. Sellers have been suffering in the way of lost wages, Ebay listing fees, and most importantly… the loss of legal and binding transactions. *Affective immediately for all auctions* We are requesting that within the last 24 hours of the auction end date or prior to that time frame, the top three bidders or any party who is planning on submitting a bid must make a verbal commitment to their dedication to pay within the terms specified. Regardless of your feed back or bid history if we do not hear from you we reserve the right to delete your bid and sell the vehicle to those who have met the terms of this agreement. This type of pre “auction end” contact will not only give us a chance to build a trusting relationship with you, but gives you the buyer, a more personal experience and better sense of our staff along with our mission to provide you with the highest standard of customer service that we give to each of our clients. TheBarnFind.com thanks you for your understanding and we look forward to working with you and your passion for the vintage Volkswagen.
