Vehicle Detail
FOR SALE -- 1955 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4 BN1 This is a rare find for anyone interested in Austin Healeys. This is a documented ONE OWNER(female) CAR from 1955-2010. The original owner received this car as a gift from her parents in 1955 after completing college. This car has NEVER before been offered for sale. Car was bought new in San Francisco California from British Motor Car Distributors LTD on 1800 Van Ness Ave and stayed in CA until the mid 80's. The last registration in Ca was from 1974. It was brought to Iowa and went into inside dry storage here.Still has it's original issued CA BLACK PLATES but is currently titled in Iowa. The original owner got the car out a couple of years ago and had the gas tank resealed inside and out and had the Original motor rebuilt and the Radiator redone.Sadly she passed away this past year before any more work was done. The car has not been started or driven for decades.Still would need tires, brakes, Carbs rebuilt etc etc to whatever extent one wanted to go on a restoration. The car had the seats stolen while the owner was at a party in the Ca in the 70's. There are new upper and lower seat pans and seat foam but would still need new uphol. Tires are old vintage belted tires.Includes the original folding soft top and the original side curtins and frames in there original bag.Spare, Jack and tire pump are still in the trunk.Would need new fabric. Also includes a fiberglass hardtop. Not sure if this is a factory accessory or a vintage aftermarket item.Body looks to have had one repaint. Doors, trunk hood fenders etc all look solid.Hood is louvered but might not be factory. There is a small rust area below the passenger side rear of the door on the body sill. Floors look good as well. Some dents on the lower front pan below the bumper.Front bumper is bent. Some pin holes in the rear trunk pan. Very good overall for a 55 year old car. I have seen cars that are rusted in half get restored. You are way ahead to start with a solid complete example. It saves lots of money in a restoration. New owner would be the Second Owner of this car.Don't miss out as I am sure there are few nice unrestored survivor cars still out there of this vintage and with this history.Car is located near Mt Pleasant Iowa.
