Second owner had it since 1967 and I bought it last year. You are looking at an UNMOLESTED bug an un-restored beauty and in its original condition. Forty-five years young and lightly driven as the previous owner towed it behind his camper and used it very little. I got it with the intention to totally restore it to my Sunday driver, but just bought an old Victorian house that needs work done and needs furnished. Original 1200cc engine and 6 volt electrical system, both in superb working condition, previous owner had the engine overhauled 20,000 miles ago. New starter New battery Recent overhaul New axle boots I had put on last month New professionally done tune-up last weekCar inspected by professional VW mechanic that only works on classics 125# compression on each cylinder. Replaced old fuel lines and gas filter Anti-sway torsion bar in rear New rubber seals on front and rear window. Rust free floor pan except for usual battery box rust Nice bumpers with accessory bumper guards Original factory installed shelf below dashboard Original vintage Sapphire AM radio is in trunk compartment, not sure if it works. Original VW logo hubcaps, not cheap reproductions, some rust on them. It is a joy to drive and I always get thumbs up when cruising through town or if the car is left in a parking lot it is common to come back to the car and have someone looking at it and asking me questions. Although this Beetle has been well taken care of mechanically, the interior has been ignored. Original red and white door panels need replaced. Seat covers on now, original red and white underneath. Head liner has a few small rips, interior light missing. Needs new carpeting. Squeaking shocks need replaced and horn quit working. Door and side window rubbers need replaced. Ignition switch is not original. It is hard to find a classic bug in original stock condition, most of the VWs for sale have been modified by updating the electrical system to 12 volts, cutting speaker holes into the body, dashes been cut/modified, suspension lowered, pans replaced or repaired. None of that here! Odometer reads 62,190 miles, my guess is 162,190. If you need assistance on delivery, I can drive as far as San Jose for delivery by a transport company. If you decide to hire a transportation company all costs will be paid by the buyer. Car is in great to excellent mechanical condition, engine and transmission in good running condition, but car does not have any guarantee or warranties express or implied.
