Vehicle Detail

Selling my 04 Elantra GT. * Sorry for ending early, I thought I made a deal locally, and it fell through. Please make sure you have your finances in order before bidding. I bought this car in 4/5/07 as a commuter car during college, with 39,952 miles on it. Most of the miles are highway. I drove 55 miles round trip from college to student teaching 5 days a week, and 250 miles round trip home monthly. Since then, I have been up and down the east coast on road trips, and I commute 40 miles a day on the highway to work. While in college, I only used semi-synthetic oil every 3-5k; since I graduated, only Mobil 1 5w30 or 0w30, depending on the time of year. The car has never left me stranded, and it has been a good car. It averages about 32 on highway, but I have gotten up to 36 on long trips using cruise control at 72 mph. I have added a Weapon-R air intake to increase MPG. I also added HID headlights and fog light (6000k, pure white headlights, 3000k, yellow fog lights) because where I went to school, there were no street lights. That is the first picture, before the primer bumper. I upgraded the sound system, but will not come with the sub or amp. The 4 gauge power wire will remain. It DOES NOT HAVE A CD PLAYER! ONLY AN MP3 PLAYER. It will come with a direct ipod/MP3 hookup in the glovebox. The speakers in the front are Polk Audio db6500 components, and the back are jvc 2 way speakers. The speakers are powered by an Alpine head unit amp behind the head unit. Very loud, clean, and natural sounding with the subwoofer ( I spent a lot of time and money to have it sound good, like a concert, not a ghetto system). The trunk is also partially sound deadend. I don't think the system sounds complete without the subwoofer, but I am not going to part with my amp and subwoofer since both were very hard to come by. I had the timing belt, as well as the other drive belts and water pump replaced at 88k. Other minor upgrades include a short throw shifter and OEM Hyundai Tiburon metallic pedals (not cheap slip overs from Autozone). The car still has its original clutch, because I know how to drive my car. It must be in good shape; it has never let me down. 2 years ago, I taught my mom how to drive manual, and I bought a new clutch (Exedy) and flywheel (Fidanza 7.5 lbs) as a precaution. I still have them in their original, unopened box, and I am glad to give them to the new owner. As far as the interior is concerned, I would rate it good. I am a not smoker, and I used to meticulously clean it weekly, but I have slipped a little. No major stains or odors, rip, tears, no kids. The head liner could use some cleaning. It will come vacuumed and I will armor all the interior. I will also wash and wax the vehicle. Excuse the pics, the car is even too dirty for my standards, but it is cold down here in Raleigh, and to hand wash and vacuum it now is kind of a chore. Rest assured, I will clean it before it comes to you, and it cleans up pretty well. At 108k, it's not perfect. It has some scratches here and there, and the front bumper is primer black. I slid off the road when it was snowing a while ago, and I chipped off a part of the bumper. Those are the last 2 pictures of that damage. I never painted it because it has a bra, and it never bothered me. It was strictly cosmetic, and you can't really tell with the bra on the front. The ebrake needs adjusted, it doesn't hold the car on a hill anymore. I only park on flat streets, so it also never bothered me. The tint is old and should be taken off, but it may not bother you. The headlights are starting to fog up, but doesn't affect the visibility, to the dismay of other drivers. The tires need to be replaced. At high speeds, the steering wheel shakes because the tires wore weird. I thought it was an allignment or balance issue, but when I took it to get alligned, the allignment was perfect. They said the tires were the problem, and the problem would go away with new ones. I guess that's what you get when you buy cheap tires. The price is set accordingly, and all of it is pretty minor stuff. I have a lot of reciepts and records of maintence for the car, I saved all maintence done at a repair shop, which was mostly oil changes. Stuff I've done myself was iridium plugs, and new wires about 30k ago, new front brake pads about 15k ago, new battery about 5k ago, and regular oil changes the past year. The manual transmission fluid was filled with redline synthetic fluid when the timing belt was done. * To be clear, under the bra, there is a new, primer black bumper, ready to be painted, not the chipped one in the last 2 pics. With a little work, this would make a nice 1st car. It has a lot of life, but I want something faster, and I have the oppurtunity to buy the car I've always wanted. It still has a small lien on the vehicle. The vehicle is located in Raleigh NC, but at the end of the auction it will be in Pittsburgh PA, since it is registered in Pittsburgh, PA. If you are local in Raleigh NC, you may come by and see it for yourself until the end of the auction. Email w/ questions. The mileage will be slightly higher until the car is purchased. I will also fill up the gas tank before purchase. I am not a dealership, and at 108k no warranty is expressed or implied. You may inspect the car prior to purchase at your own cost. I know my car very well, and I have disclosed everything I know about the car honestly and completely, but I am not a mechanic. This is not an auction to bid to check it out, this is bid to own, please do not waste my time or yours. No tire kickers please, only serious offers. Listing may end early due to local sale. $500.00 Non-refundable deposit due 48 hours after auction close, full payment due within a week by cashier check or money order.
