Vehicle Detail

1955 MGA Roadster NO RESERVE!!!!!!!! You are looking at a 1955 MGA roadster Parts Car. This car is being offered for $1, and it will be sold to the high bid, regardless of closing price. I have relisted it, as several eBayers have correctly identified it as a 1955 model, after 1 day on ebay. Thanks for all of the help. If you have been watching my auctions for the past 3 years, you will know that we were liquidating all family assets, including boats, RVs, my muscle car collection, my fathers exotic car collection, and just about every other asset to help pay for my father's medical treatment at MD Anderson, for his AML Leukemia. Sadly, he lost his brave battle after 2 years and 1 day. He left behind a great legacy, and also a few unfinished projects. This car was the last project my father ever purchased. He got it about 3 weeks before he passed away. He knew he would never get around to finishing it, but it brought him an escape from the daily reality of his situation, and his battle with his cancer. It was a mental escape for him. I still look back on his old eBay site, and see all of the parts that he had earmarked for this car. He never bought any of the parts, but it gave him great joy to catalog all the needed parts, and "fix it up" in his head. As you can see in the pictures, the front bay is clearing out now, and we are down to just this car, my Healey project, and some other muscle and sports cars in the back bays. Unfortunately, we are still fighting to pay off medical expenses, and to save the house my father left behind for my mother. Consequently, this, as well as every other auction I list, will start at $1, and sell to the high bidder, so please bid to own!! I remember my dad telling me it was a very early car, and several eBayers have commented that it is a 1955. I can not confirm this, although I am sure the experts know better than I do. The body number on the vertical tag reads: 44165 The engine number reads: BP15BB - 24272 An eBayer told me this was a very early engine, and I remember my father showing me a starting wand that hooks up to the front pulley, incase you need to hand crank it!! The car is very original, however, it is completely rusted out, and is being sold as a parts car. PLEASE READ THE LISTING CAREFULLY, AND LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! I do not want to get bad feedback because somebody is expecting a solid car. This car is completely rusted on every panel, and as the pictures show, it is probably better used as a parts car. The frame's floor pans have completely rusted out between the frame rails, and there are only wood planks across the frame. The trunk has holes rusted all the way through to the floor. The fenders have rust all over the surface, and there is only a tiny bit of paint left. The rest is rusted as the pictures show. The fenders are probably not usable with all the rust. The bumpers also have rust all over them. The dash actually looks good, and the gauges look better than the rest of the car. When my father got it, he carefully wrapped the carbs to protect them from any moisture getting in. They are still wrapped as he left them. It also has a top with the bows as seen in the pictures, but again, everything on the car looks to be deteriorated. It does roll fairly well though. The only thing I am keeping on the car is the gear shift knob, which I unscrewed for my father. He was too weak to unscrew it, so I took it off for him. I will probably build a car around that shift knob one day. Please feel free to inspect the car if you have any questions about it, or I will do my best to take extra pictures and send them along to any that need them. Also feel free to comment on any details that I am unaware of, as I am sure that many of you will know better than I do. You can call me at 407 399 9287 Hopefully, this car will help somebody complete another MGA, and if so, it will have gone to a good cause. My father would be happy. Terms: 20% Paypal deposit due in 48 hours. Full payment due in 7 days. Car is sold "as is, where is", so buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup. Incidentally, this auction closes on my father's birthday!!! Happy birthday Pops :) We miss you! Happy bidding! On Dec-29-10 at 11:38:07 PST, seller added the following information: Hello Fellow eBayers. I have had several emails and calls about restoring this car. While I am no expert on them, I can say with my honest opinion that this car is best as a parts car. It appears to be completely rusted, and the frame inside the rails is totally gone. There are no floors left at all. It also has rust on the tops and bottoms of all 4 fenders, and the trunk is rusted through with holes in areas. I do not think the body is usable with all the rust. Please bid accordingly, and keep in mind that I think it is best as a parts car.On Jan-02-11 at 16:32:07 PST, seller added the following information: Hello fellow eBayers, I will be traveling to Canada on January 3. Unfortunately, I will not have access to email, so please call me at 407 399 9287 with any questions, and leave a message. I fly out at 1:40 pm, and have a layover from 4:30 to 7:50, so I will try to respond during these times. I land at 8:50pm, which is barely enough time to respond before the auction closes. Happy Bidding
