******To my valued Ebay bidders...I'm terribly sorry about the confusion and am personally sick that my auction has caused such a mess for all of us. Through no fault of my own my Ebay account was hacked and someone placed a malicious text within my description redirecting bidders to another website and the Ebay computer ended our auction. I spent 3.5 hours online and telephone with Ebay correcting the problem...isn't the internet great. Thank you for your patience and please bid with confidence as the car is as described and even previewed by one of the local bidders out of Vancouver, WA..****** Condition: I am the 2nd owner on this car after purchasing it 18+ years ago from a guy in Portland, OR. that had brought it up from California after he bought it at an estate sale one year prior to my purchase. I have completely gone through this car and it is brand new from the ground up. I had a guy help me build this motor that built drag and circle track motors for racers. It was a 289 car but we put a 1971 302 HP built motor in it and bored it .40 over. I have put maybe 4,000-5,000 miles on the car and with the help of West Coast Classic Cougar out of Brooks, Oregon I have recently completed my resto-mod restoration. This is not a trailered show car but is worthy or your appreciation as it has great paint and I consider it a show-driver. I know it's not an XR7 car but I have taken it to numerous car shows and is always a favorite as you just don't see that many Cougars of this era running around town or the local car show circuit. The Hooker "Super Competition" and dual crossover Flow Master exhaust announce your arrival. The pearl white paint turns heads and the old school looking radio/MP3/IPOD ready modern high output 240watt stereo w/separate 12" sub and amp. cranks out the KISS, Journey, Loverboy, Van Halen, and AC/DC all night long. I have put approx. $20k into this car over the years with the bulk of that happening within the last couple of years with new suspension parts/motor/paint/glass/interior/lights/reflectors/rubber moldings/front bumper. All trim parts are new or polished. The restoration wasn't a frame off but I can supply you with pics the way I stripped it down on it's way to paint before final assembly. It was stripped, fenders and doors/hood/trunk off and bead blasted before receiving its 4-stage pearl white paint. I went old school with the Coke Bottle 5-spoke American Racing Wheels and white letter tires. Importantly headlight vacuum units all work and fully operational along with the updated solid state sequential rear tail lights. Features: I'll do my best to list what I have done to this car: Under carriage area: 4-new gas shocks with rear air adjustable shocks, front springs and rear leaf springs, Heavy Duty 1.5" Front and Rear Sway Bar, All new polyurethane bushing kit on all wear suspension parts, recent front end alignment. Brakes have been gone through and it drives great. Motor: OK here we go...302 bored .40 over, Erson Cam, with Keith Black hypereuclectic Pistons, and Erson Roller Rockers on cast iron Windsor DartII Heads that add 57+ HP, Stock main journal and connecting rods, Holley 650 Double Pumper Carb., Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Mallory Electronic Ignition, Mallory ProMaster Coil, Heavy Plug Wires and wire lum, Hooker "Super Competition" Headers, Dual Cross-Over Flow Master Exhaust. It's all covered with Edelbrock Signature Series Valve Covers and Air Filter, new battery, 3-core radiator and fan shroud, power steering pump, single wire alternator, and starter. Transmission: Brand New C-4 3-speed automatic transmission was just put in this summer 2010. It's been built for this car by a very reputable local shop that does alot of High Horse Power cars including the drag circuit. I have put enough miles on the car with this new transmission to tell you it smooth as silk and plenty strong for this motor set up. Interior: All interior is new including carpet, mats, dashboard, front glass, rear seats, center console, headliner, tach., wood grain steering wheel and rear tray with Alpine 6"x9" rears and 5" front/kicks. I took the liberty to change the front mid-back seats to XR7 style Highback seats that are much more comfortable. Exterior: 4-stage Pearl White, with all newly polished aluminum/chrome trim pieces. New front turn signal/rear back up lights/ side marker and front 1/4 panel running lights, Door Jams have been painted to match, new wheel-well molding, driver remote mirror and passenger remote mirror, 5-spoke coke bottle American Racing Rims and white letter radial tires. History: This is an awesome running Cougar that will give you years of pleasure. All you have to do is start it up and keep yourself from doing a burnout down your local street as you are the envy of your old school muscle club/friends. The worst blemish on this car is a small dent/scratch on the top of the car provided from a guy that was helping me put the car together earlier this year. As I stated above, this car has a new front bumper that I chose to complete during restoration because it's the more difficult of the bumpers to replace during the restoration. I can put a new rear bumper on the car for you for an extra $500 before shipping as I have West Coast Classic Cougar at my rear door that can do a core exchange without you having to freight your old bumper in order to receive a new bumper in return. Shipping and Payment: I expect a negotiated deposit within 72 hrs of the close of an accepted bid and the unpaid balance to be paid by cashiers/money order/direct deposit by 7-days after the close of an accepted bid. Transportation/freight is to be paid at owners expense and calculated into the final payment.
