Vehicle Detail
1987 Suzuki Samurai 4X4 Tin-Top Approximately 40-45,000 miles on very strong engine. Weber carburetor (intake manifold ported to match). Calmini exhaust header. 2 inch exhaust. GM 100 amp alternator. No oil leaks. Quick-Loc lockers in front and rear axles. (All axle bearings and seals replaced when lockers installed +/- 10,000 miles ago, all u-joints replaced at same time). Petroworks GRS II (4.89 gear ratio) crawler gears in transfer case (completely overhauled +/- 10,000 miles ago). T-case modified--it can be run in 2 wheel drive low range. Rocky Road heavy duty t-case mount. Front axle truss. 3 inch dropped pitman arm. Old Man Emu hd steering shock. 3 inch lift BDS springs (“spring under” mount). Trail Tough “dog bone” 1 ½” lift spring shackles. Urethane spring and shackle bushings. Canted rear shock mounts. (6) BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO 30 X 9.50 R 15 LT tires and matching white spoke wheels. The 4 tires on ground are approximately 70%. The 2 spares (second not shown in photos) have never been on the ground. Heavy duty shop-built rooftop carrier. Mid 90’s Geo bucket seats in good shape. Abs plastic door panels (front doors). ’88 or later Samurai 4 spoke steering wheel. No radio (engine gauges & toggle switches installed here). Suzuki Samurai SJ 410 vertically slotted metal grill (professionally installed—still in primer). Looks like a baby Hummer. I have owned this truck since 1998 and am the second adult owner. All the above mods and many more were made by me. I used this tough little truck in my gold mining ventures all over the Western States and Mexico, driving it and pulling a trailer load of mining equipment, but have used it “off-road only” since 2006 (I have not licensed it since), and towed it to my mining camps. All lights and safety equipment are operational, but since most smog control components (including catalytic converter) have been removed, it may not be legal for highway use in your state. Please keep that in mind if you plan on putting it to street use. I have a clean New Mexico title (my mining base) which does not require a state inspection or smog test. Since I want to maintain my 100% positive feedback rating, I will now tell you about the negatives (as I see it): It still has its original paint (except for primer on grill), so if you want it pretty it will need paint (I had planned on rhino coating the exterior and haven’t gotten to it). Headliner needs to be replaced (or just removed). Old window tint on side and rear glass needs to be removed and/or replaced. Right front spring has de-arched maybe ¾ of an inch—even though the BDS springs are lifetime guaranteed I have done nothing about it because I was planning on putting another suspension under it. I removed the air conditioning system (didn’t use it) and have not bothered to re-install heater controls—easy fix. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a number of positives and maybe a negative or two. I’ve sold hundreds of mining items on e-Bay but this is my first vehicle—please bear with me. If you have questions or want more pictures, just e-mail me and I will do my best to comply. Include your phone number in e-mail and I will be glad to pay for the call to discuss the truck with you. This is one tough little Samurai! Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will gladly assist in getting it to a local shipper of your choice. I may agree to deliver it to you for my expenses depending on where you are located—e-mail me. I know this is the Christmas season, so I will be happy to store it (indoors) for 30 to 45 days as long as full payment has been received. A deposit of $1000 paid through PayPal is required within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 4 days in a manner mutually agreed upon. Thanks for looking and good luck! P.S. The picture of Samurai in snow is to show the original plastic front grille before installation of metal grille. On Dec-08-10 at 18:42:52 PST, seller added the following information: Bidders with less than a "10 positive feedback" rating will need to e-mail me with FULL contact info BEFORE you bid or I will cancel your bid. Please include your phone number in e-mail. I'm sorry that this seems to have become neccessary.
