Boy, I do not know where to begin with this car. I guarantee you will never find a better Spitfire on Ebay. This will be a long rambling narrative of everything I have done to this car. To summarize first, I will simply say that this car has had a professional critical restoration of everything mechanical on the car. From the front headlights to the backend of the car. To date I have $11,432.00 in this car. Of course the odometer is only 5 digits, so no one really knows the mileage of any of these cars. The two things that matter with these cars is the question of rust and mechanicals. This car has no rust damage at all. That is why I chose it. All the mechanicals and much of the electrical have been restored. Below you will find 35 pictures showing the detail of the car. There are numerous cosmetic things that the next buyer may want to address, but it really is not necessary if you just want a great little car to sport around in. The car could use a new paint job if your very critical. Understand, most of the time people buy these cars and paint them, put in new seats and call them restored. That is the easy stuff. The mechanical resto is what is time consuming and expensive. This car has the very desirable Electric OverDrive. Switched in the shifter. This means that the car gets 50 MPG. Yes, verified and proven. That is on a brand new rebuilt engine. It should get better with time. So let's get started on the list of things done. I am sure I will not remember all the small things from memory, but I have receipts & pictures of the process. This was completed June 2010. You may also talk to the guys at SouthSide British that did the work. They also build competition British cars. They are very good at what they do. Great attention to detail. At great expense. Engine pulled and rebuilt bored 30 over, Head was machined flat and the valve train was hardened. All new gaskets. Properly broken in with break in oils, changed and synthetic oil put back in at 300 miles. K&N oil filter. Transmission pulled, opened, serviced as needed. Needed very little replacement. All gears inspected, cleaned, reassembled, and synthetic lube put in. New synchros all around. Electric overdrive was not working at all. Pulled it out and sent it to the best British Overdrive repair center in the world for complete rebuild. Works really well now. New U-Joints all around. The rear transverse leaf Spring is a real problem for these cars. It is a major and very expensive repair.All new with bushings. New shocks all around, new bushings all around. New wheel bearings and seals all around. New slotted rotors and new brakes all around. New coil springs on the front. This model year car came with a single xxxxxx Carb. This one is equipped with the very desirable Twin xxxxxx 400 carbs, designed for the bigger British sedans. Results in extra horsepower without hurting the MPG. K&N Air Filters and housings. New battery, new plugs, new wires, solid state Pertronix ignition, new belts. New European Driving Lights with new wire harness and DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS because believe me people do not see this little guy coming. I removed the ignition system and installed a real nice push button ignition system as seen in the pictures, Way cool. New Ferrarrie horns that are very loud. New smaller steering wheel and horn button. Replaced the damaged speakers behind the seats with a set of real thumpers. I have a very nice set of Mazda MIata Red Stitch leather seats that are included but need to be installed. New sport wheels and tires. New Monza exhaust. Brand new top properly installed. includes a boot. Full size spare and tire and jack gear is present.Everything on this car works, even the interior courtesy lights when the doors are opened. I just got audited for 2006 thru 2009 and have come up with some money. So here ya go, This your chance to own a really nice Spitfire with all the hard work already done. Enjoy and good luck bidding.
