Vehicle Detail

This is a RARE car. . .most of these wagons were made as Ford Country Squires. . . .VERY few were made as Colony Park's. . . .I would assume there are not many left. . . .it is a ONE OWNER CAR with 58,865 original miles. The Mercury Colony Park was the top-of-the-line full-size station wagon offered by Mercury between 1957 and 1991. It wore wood grain paneling on the bodysides and tailgate, as did the related 1957-1991 Ford Country Squire and the 1958 Edsel Bermuda wagons. The Colony Park was as large as it would ever be with the 1973-1978 generation. (This is the car you are bidding on) Because of the car's sheer heft, Mercury equipped this generation with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6 liter) V-8 as standard, with a 460-cubic-inch (7.5 liter) optional. Toward the end of this generation, the 351-cubic-inch V-8 became available, although it was less than desirable. Most surviving examples carry either of the two larger engines, as they were far more popular, not to mention more capable of powering such a heavy vehicle. VIN NUMBER 5Z76S559787 this is a ONE OWNER ESTATE CAR. . . it has just 58k original miles (YES original miles). . .it was bought brand new at Stillpass Lincoln / Mercury / Ford in Cincinnati, Ohio. . .Overall very good original condition . . . . . it's an automatic with LOW MILEAGE of 58,865 (amazingly works out to 1,600 miles per year) . . . please see photo of paperwork where the mileage is marked as 54,447 and marked ACTUAL (that was in March of 2008 - mileage as of 12/3/10 is 58,865) - This car LITERALLY floats down the road . . transmission shifts fine, the engine is a 400c.i. 6.6L V8 and runs excellent . . .appears to be 100% stock . . .and appears to have it's original paint and interior. . . . .the owners were an elderly couple (their first names were Orville & Dorothy). . . .IT IS A ONE OWNER CAR. . . . .IT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. . . .we have the original owners manual, booklets, paperwork and ID-card, and other related paperwork, we just had all fluids changed and freshened everything, you will love the EXCELLENT CONDITION AVOCADO GREEN VINYL INTERIOR. . . .(and exterior) the interior is in AMAZING CONDITION. . . NO rips NO stains NO wear NEVER smoked in (lighter and ashtray never used) . . .headliner is LIKE NEW. . . short pile "shag type" carpet in in GREAT shape and is very clean, interior is VERY clean and, the car was always garaged, original factory hubcaps are all present and beautiful . . .the original "flip number" clock is there AND IT WORKS. . . . as you can see from the photos the paint and the interior are very nice . . .the "wood" decal is in good shape, with some fading and loss (but considering it's 35 years old it's great), I walked the whole car twice there is not ONE BUBBLE in the wood decal, NO CRACKS, FADING OR ISSUES WITH DASHBOARD (proving it was always garaged) it features 400 c.i. 8-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, a/c - p/steering - p/brakes - p/rear window - am/fm (antenna missing) - flip clock (works) - it has the flip up seats in the "way back" that face each other (which appear to have never been used) , the carpet in the rear is original and looks BRAND NEW. . . the engine runs at the proper temperature it runs quiet with no noises or issues (it had recent exhaust work), It has the usual bumps, scrapes, dings, rust spots, you would find with any 35 year old car. . . .there is a spot where the drivers front fender and drivers door where something got pinched and bent the metal (im sure it can be re-bent but I didn't try it). . . .there is a box in the back of the wagon that holds two replacement radiator hoses, two fan belts, and some extra replacement parts that the man kept in there (there is even the original 1975 receipt for the two hoses, looks like they were bought yesterday) , the car has a new/recent exhaust system, we just installed a brand new water pump, because it is 35 years old it can be inexpensively registered and FULLY insured as a classic or antique. . .only issues are the usual rust in the bottom of the spare tire holder and some other minor rust and flaws, (the front bumper is excellent, the rear bumper has some rust) . . .I brought it to my friends gas station to put it on the lift and it all looks good. . some expected scaly rust but NO ROT - NO HOLES - NOTHING BAD. . . .overall frame looks looks fine, This was an Ohio car most of it's life), . . . .the only issues I can see is there seems to be a power steering leak, this classic starts at just $500 and sold NO RESERVE. It has a Connecticut bill of sale - (no title required for ANY car made before 1981 - we have copies of the old title, title search, previous owners information, and other documents) . . .OVERALL this is a great RARE car, I would imagine these are getting harder and harder to find (1978 was the last year these were made.) Feel free to ask any questions. . . . .this car is in beautiful condition. . . . . Thank You!! I HAVE PERSONALLY DRIVEN THIS CAR OVER 100 MILES, I WOULD FEEL VERY CONFIDENT DRIVNG THIS CAR ANY DISTANCE, IT RUNS STRONG AND WOULD HAVE NO CONCERNS, PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE BIDDING TO OWN THE CAR, NOT BIDDING TO WIN THE CHANCE TO COME AND KICK THE TIRES AND THEN DECIDE IF YOU WANT IT, PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, WE WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANYHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, FULL PAYMENT DUE WITHIN 3 DAYS FROM AUCTION CLOSE, BILL OF SALE AND ANY OTHER PAPERWORK WIL BE OVERNIGHTED TO YOU ONCE PAYMENT HAS CLEARED WE CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING - WE DO NOT HAVE A BUY IT NOW PRICE - THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING
