Vehicle Detail
Honda GB500 for sale. 500cc single. Replica of the British AJS 7R "Boy racer" without the oil leaks, electrical gremlins, but WITH Honda reliability and power. This bike is a lot of fun to ride both for the novice or the seasoned rider. Whenever I park or stop to buy gas, everyone stops to look and ask about this bike. Included with the bike is a 600 cc upgrade kit (cylinder and piston; "XR600" is written in marker at the base of the cylinder ), Honda factory shop manual, NOS lock set, NOS petcock, and several other genuine Honda replacement parts. Mechanically, the bike runs well. There is a small ding on the top of the tank it does not show up well in a photograph. There is another small ding on one of the side covers; it doesn't show up well in a photograph either. I've taken the best close-up photos that I could. I've never dropped this bike. I can't say how the dings got there. If I were to keep the bike I would have the aluminum engine cases polished, they appear to be oxidized... the clear coat does not look great. I asked a Honda dealer about this. He said that this was common w/ this bike. I have a 600cc cylinder and piston conversion kit. I would do the polishing at the same time that I installed the kit. I am the third owner of the bike. The second owner of the bike was a doctor, he owned several Ducatis. I don't know anything about the first owner except that he had bought the piston kit. I've never dropped the bike, the doctor claimed that he had bought the bike with the two small dings. I bought the shop manual, the lock set, petcock, new touch-up paint [never used], and other miscellaneous bits. I am including the full tool kit and owner's manual that goes with the bike; I'm not holding anything back. The bike has the stock exhaust on it. I've only put approximately 1,000 miles on the bike myself, I'd planned on making the 600cc conversion once I'd racked up many more miles. The bike runs well I had not planned on selling this bike however life takes us through many turns; I now have five children, a full-time job, and a part-time job... that equals no time. I was riding the bike to work regularly a year ago but I need to consistently drive a car w/ child seats. Someone should ride and enjoy this bike. This is not a museum showpiece bike, however, it has few miles on the clock, runs well, and I've included a lot of extras that should be a good starting point for the serious enthusiast. I've listed the bike at a low starting point with no reserve. May the most earnest enthusiast take all!
