SquareTrade © AP6.0 You are bidding on a 2001 Honda Civic EX with slightly less than 200,500 miles total mileage. We have complete maintenance and repair records for this car going back to the day we purchased it (exactly six years ago, November 2004, at a local CarMax dealer). This was my daughter’s car and was most definitely her “baby,” taking her through college and a few years beyond. On that point, she insisted on cleaning it most thoroughly inside and out the day after I took the pictures for this listing, so whoever gets this car will find it most carefully cleaned and polished even beyond what shows in the pictures. It does have a few known issues, outlined below, but is otherwise in very good to excellent condition, especially considering its age and mileage. This car has been in two relatively minor accidents, something you can easily verify for yourself on AutoCheck (per the hyperlink in this listing), one of them sustained before we owned the car. We have made certain any minor cosmetic damage sustained was meticulously repaired, usually by replacing the appropriate exterior parts. We do not know of any structural damage to this car. The following is a list of all maintenance (other than routine oil/filter/lube changes) done on this car since 2008. Our complete records (going back to November 2004) are available on request New wiper blades (11/2010) New front right wheel bearing (11/2010) New A/C compressor & A/C system recharge (8/2010) New front brakes & rotors (6/2010) New alternator plug, wiring, & bracket bolt (2/2010) New front tires (1/2010) New rear sway bar links (1/2010) Transmission patched (special magnetic filter added to return line and complete fluid replacement) (11/2009) 180,000 mile maintenance cycle including engine tune-up, new filters, and new battery (10/2009) New exhaust spring bolts & front gasket for down pipe (8/2009) New front sway bar links, frame mounts (6/2009) New catalytic converter & mounting hardware (8/2008) New oxygen sensor (8/2008) New tires (all 4) (8/2008) New hood and new slider pin kit (6/2008) 140,000 mile maintenance cycle (3/2008) There are minor cosmetic issues consistent with the car’s age and mileage, most of which are clearly visible in the photos, e.g. minor cigarette burns on the interior fabric, re-glued fabric in the rear ceiling (over back seat) and on small patches of the interior doors, minor carpet stains by the driver seat, and minor paint scratches. We have yet to see any rust on the body. The following are the known mechanical issues with this car that will eventually need to be addressed if a future owner wants to restore the car to “perfect” condition: 1) We don’t know how long the transmission repair will last. The mechanic who did the work told us that in theory it could last anywhere between 25,000 and 125,000 more miles, but that it was impossible to predict its life expectancy any more accurately than that. This repair work was done about 40,000 miles ago. Because of the transmission’s condition and the nature of the repair, the “check engine light” has gone on and off at random intervals ever since the repair was done. However, so far all seems to be well with this transmission. Nevertheless, it will eventually need to be replaced. 2) The SRS indicator light is permanently on due to a broken sensor on the driver’s seatbelt. This is a known issue with this particular make and model of car, one that we attempted to fix under warranty but without success. It has no effect on the car’s safety: the airbags will still deploy (in the event of an accident) despite this broken sensor. 3) As of 2 weeks ago, it appears the thermostat may be malfunctioning: the car’s interior now gets adequate sustained heat only after several miles of highway driving. While doing city driving, the heater “cuts out” every time the car is brought to a stop, then resumes under acceleration. This was the little detail that finally motivated my daughter to buy a new car. 4) The driver side rear window cannot be closed (or opened, fortunately). 5) The panic button on the keyless remote does not work. We currently have 2 master keys and 1 keyless remote for this car. We never had a “valet key” for it. We also have the owner’s manual, all of (our own) maintenance records (as noted above), and (of course) a clean and paid-up title. This car was very important to my daughter for several years and we are hopeful it will find a new home on eBay for years to come. Thank you for your attention in reading this listing and we look forward to seeing your bid!
