Although not in the best of condition, this is a VERY RARE car. The quote from Fords archives states, "LTD (fox body) police edition, roughly 800 were produced." Its the Ford LTD called the LX. It is also a factory cop/police car which was the rarest of all. It came with the 5.0 H.O. which I believe was the Cobra engine in that year range. Transmission is an automatic AOD. Has an 8.8 posi rear with 3.27 gears. Car has factory cop car 140 speedo. Comes with clear title stating it is a police car. Its far from perfect as you can see but until we parked it a few years back we drove it all over. Engine ran perfect and the trans shifted perfect. Engine was very strong when we drove it. Felt just like you were driving a strong Mustang but in a 4 door cop car. Front glass is busted from a tree limb. The car really needs a cleaning but most all of the dirt comes off easily. It came standard with the high output 5.0 L CFI V8 engine, four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, 600 lb-in front and 270 lb-in rear coil springs, front and rear sway bars, 10 inch front disc and 10 inch rear drum brakes, and a 3.27:1 rear gear ratio with a Traction-Lok differential. The LX model was the only LTD to have a center console with a floor-mounted shifter for the transmission, and a tachometer in the instrument cluster.
